A teaching platform for Thanaweya Amma teachers: how to set one up and what it needs
A Thanaweya Amma teacher needs a platform under their own name that keeps each year's students apart, sells groups by the month and protects video from leaking. Snatr does that: stages for first, second and third secondary, online groups by the month or the session, prepaid cards you sell for cash at your centre, encrypted video carrying the student's name, exams timed on the server, and a parent portal. Plans start at 999 EGP a month.
Create a stage for each secondary year, each with its own courses, groups and exams.
Sell groups by monthly subscription or by the session, and code cards for cash at centres and bookshops.
Uploaded video is encrypted against download tools and carries the student's name; each student uses one device at a time.
Centre attendance by QR card, and parents follow from a portal on your site.
Students over your plan's limit still register; sign-ups never close mid-year.
The Thanaweya Amma teacher's reality: centre, online and a lot of students
A Thanaweya Amma teacher usually works in several places at once: groups at a centre, students following online from other governorates, and revision videos before the exams. Every year the numbers grow, and so do the problems.
The problems teachers tell us about every day: the lesson video gets downloaded and posted in Telegram groups, two students share one account, money arrives as scattered transfers checked by hand, and parents call to ask whether their child turned up.
A platform that suits a Thanaweya Amma teacher has to solve these together, not one program per problem.
Keep each year's students separate.
Sell the way Egyptian students are used to: a monthly subscription, a session, or a card paid in cash.
Make video hard to leak, and make anyone tempted to leak it think twice.
Run exams that mark themselves.
Bring the centre, online teaching and parents into one place.
How do I organise first, second and third secondary?
With stages. Create a stage for each year, and put that year's recorded courses, online groups and exams inside it.
The sign-up form can ask students to pick their stage, along with governorate, city and a parent's phone if you like.
A discount coupon can cover a whole stage, such as a discount for third-year students only.
A stage's exams can be assigned to all of its groups at once instead of group by group.
Each year's students find their own courses and groups on your site without getting mixed up with the other years.
My videos keep leaking on Telegram. What do I do?
Upload the video to a platform that encrypts it, instead of a YouTube or Drive link. On Snatr, uploaded video is encrypted and its key goes to the browser's decryption module, so download extensions, paste-the-link sites and tools like yt-dlp end up with useless files.
Because no protection stops screen recording, the video carries a moving watermark with the student's name, a short code and your logo. An ordinary recording carries the student's name, which makes posting it awkward for them. It deters rather than proves, because someone technical can remove it. If you find out who leaked, you can suspend that account so the lessons no longer open.
And each student is signed in on one device at a time. If two students share an account, each sign-in pushes the other out, so the shared account stops working.

Monthly groups, and prepaid cards sold at the centre
Thanaweya Amma students are used to paying for a group every month, or buying a card at the centre or a bookshop and activating the lecture with it. Snatr does both.
An online group is sold by monthly subscription (30 days per month) or by the session, with a timetable and a roster.
You print cards with codes and sell them for cash. A code either opens a specific group or course for a number of months or sessions, or adds credit to the student's balance on your site.
A student who prefers to pay online pays in EGP through Fawaterak, with methods such as cards, Fawry and Aman codes and wallets like Vodafone Cash, and the group opens on its own.
Your full price reaches you; any commission on online payments is added on top for the student.
A student who paid cash at the centre without a card is enrolled in the group by hand.
Parents get a portal on your site. You create their account and password, and they can change it later. It is read-only, so they cannot change anything.
They see their child's centre attendance, with an alert inside the portal when the child is absent or late.
Grades and payments appear once the student has a linked online account.
One parent can follow several children, even in different years.
There are no WhatsApp or SMS messages to parents; alerts are inside the portal only.
Current plans: Starter at 999 EGP a month for up to 100 students; Basic at 1,999 EGP a month for up to 200 students; Pro at 2,999 EGP a month for up to 400 students. If you have more than the largest plan, there is a custom plan for large centres, and our team replies within 24 hours.
If you outgrow your plan mid-year, new students still register; we do not close sign-ups. Each extra student is charged once when added, at your plan's extra-student price, not monthly, from your wallet. You get a warning at 80% and 95% of the limit, and you can buy a ready pack of 100, 250 or 500 extra students.
Live classes are on the Pro plan only; every other feature is in every plan.
Screen recording and filming the screen with another phone are not blocked. Encryption stops downloading; the watermark deters but does not prevent it and is not proof, because someone technical can remove it.
On iPhone and iPad, protection is weaker against a technical person, though ready-made download tools fail there too.
A printed attendance card can be photographed and sent to another student. The same card cannot count twice in one session, but attendance by proxy with a photo of the card is not stopped.
There are no WhatsApp or SMS messages to parents, and no app in the app stores.
Snatr is not a marketplace that brings you students. Students come from you.
Live classes are on the Pro plan only, and they are not encrypted.
Questions from Thanaweya Amma teachers
What are the steps to build a teaching platform for a Thanaweya Amma teacher?
Sign up with your platform's name, pick a design, create a stage for each secondary year, add your courses, groups and prices, then send the link to your students. Signing up takes minutes; your content takes as long as you need.
I teach third-secondary physics. Does the platform suit my subject?
Snatr is not tied to any subject. You upload your lessons as video, attach PDFs, and set exams with an image per question for diagrams and problems. There are ready designs for different subjects too.
Can I sell code cards at the centre and in bookshops that students use to unlock a lecture?
Yes. You print the cards from the dashboard, and the student types the code into their account, which opens the course or group for the months or sessions you set, or adds credit to their balance.
Two students share one account. How do I stop that?
On Snatr each student is signed in on one device at a time. When the second signs in on another device, the first is signed out, so a shared account stops working.
Does the platform block screen recording?
No, and we say so plainly. Encryption stops download tools, and the watermark with the student's name makes posting a recording awkward for them, but it deters rather than proves: someone technical can remove it.
Will parents get a message when their child is absent?
The alert appears inside the parent portal on your site, not as a WhatsApp or SMS message. Parents sign in and see absences and lateness themselves.
How much does a Thanaweya Amma teaching platform cost?
Current plans: Starter at 999 EGP a month for up to 100 students; Basic at 1,999 EGP a month for up to 200 students; Pro at 2,999 EGP a month for up to 400 students. There is no setup fee or hosting, and a custom plan exists if you need more than the largest plan.
Can I teach live classes to my secondary students?
Yes, on the Pro plan. Classes run inside your platform with no Zoom, attendance records itself, and you can record a class if you choose to before starting.
