For primary and prep teachers

A platform for primary and prep teachers: parents follow along, children study in order

A primary or preparatory teacher deals with two people: the child who studies and the parent who pays and asks. Snatr gives you a site in your name with recorded lessons that unlock in order, short picture quizzes that mark themselves, and a portal where parents see their child's attendance and grades without calling you. You create the child's account yourself if they have no phone or email. Plans start at 999 EGP a month, and the parent portal is in every plan.

Last updated:

  • Create a student's account by hand with a password you set, so a child never has to sign up alone.
  • One parent follows all their children from one account, even in different years or groups.
  • Every question can carry a picture, and a quiz goes one question at a time and marks itself.
  • Lessons unlock in order, so a child cannot skip ahead before finishing the one before.
  • No WhatsApp or SMS messages to parents; alerts appear inside the portal only.

How do you start with primary and prep students?

  1. 1

Create your account and pick a design for their age

Some designs were made for children, such as Crayon Box, Chalk & Board and Classic Creative Notebook, and you change their colours, text and images without code.

  2. 2

Make a stage for each year

Create stages such as Year 4 Primary and Year 1 Prep, and tie every course, group and quiz to its year.

  3. 3

Choose what students fill in at sign-up

Ask for the parent's phone and the year at sign-up. If the child is young, create the account by hand and give the password to the parent.

  4. 4

Create an account for each parent

You create the account and password and link it to their children. The parent signs in on your own site to see attendance and grades.

  5. 5

Upload the first lesson and quiz

A short video lesson, then a 5-question picture quiz. The next lesson opens once the child finishes this one.

The parent is the real customer

At primary and prep age the parent chooses the teacher, pays, and calls to ask how their child is doing. On Snatr every parent gets an account on your site, where they see:

The account is read-only: a parent cannot change anything except their own password. The platform sends them no WhatsApp or SMS messages, so if your parents expect a message with every absence, know that before you subscribe.

  • Their child's centre attendance, absences and lateness, as soon as the register is saved.
  • Grades and payments, once the child has a linked online account.
  • An alert inside the portal when their child is absent or late.
  • All their children in one account, even one in Year 5 Primary and another in Year 2 Prep.

The child has no phone or email?

Not a problem. Create the student's account yourself from the dashboard with a password you choose, and hand it to the parent. You can suspend any student's access at any time.

If you want students to sign up on your site, you choose what they fill in: the parent's phone, the year, the governorate and city. Students sign in with a phone number or an email, and the two cannot both be switched off. A student is signed in on one device at a time, so if a sibling signs in to the same account on another phone, the first device is signed out.

Short lessons that unlock in order

Children study better when a lesson is short and the next step is clear. Every course on Snatr is split into units and lessons, and the next lesson opens once the child has watched 90% of the video or submitted the lesson's quiz; the server enforces it.

  • Video plays at 720p, 480p or 360p, so a weak home connection still works at a lower quality.
  • Open one preview lesson for free so parents see how you teach before they pay.
  • Each lesson takes a PDF worksheet of up to 50 MB for parents to print. Only an enrolled student can open the PDF, through a link that expires after two minutes, and whoever opens it can save and print it.
  • Video you upload is encrypted, so download tools cannot save it to pass around parents' groups. It carries a watermark with the student's name that deters filming the screen, but it is not proof.

Picture quizzes for their age

A quiz on Snatr goes one question at a time; an exam is the whole paper. There are 4 question types: true/false, single choice, multiple choice and essay. Every question can carry a picture, such as a shape, an animal or a sentence for the child to complete.

  • Marking happens on the server, and the grade shows to the student and the parent.
  • Set a number of attempts or leave it open, so a child can retake a quiz until they master it.
  • Give an exam a time limit; it is kept by the server, so closing the page buys no extra time.
  • The options themselves are text; the picture sits on the question, not on each option.

Groups at the centre and online

If you teach at a centre, create branches and groups with their times and places, and every child gets a QR card scanned at the door. If you teach online, sell the group by monthly subscription or by a number of sessions.

In a live class (Pro plan) a child needs no camera and no microphone. They watch and listen; when they raise a hand you give them the microphone to ask, and take it back when they are done. Attendance records itself.

How do parents pay?

Parents pay online in EGP by card, a Fawry or Aman code, or a wallet such as Vodafone Cash, and the course opens by itself. A parent who pays cash at the centre has their child enrolled by hand, with no commission.

  • Print prepaid cards to sell at the centre or the bookshop near the school; the code opens the course or group.
  • Create a coupon for siblings or the first month, once per student.
  • A student who only attends at the centre, and is not enrolled in a course or group on the platform, does not count toward your plan's student limit.
  • See a list of students who made an account but did not buy, so you can call their parents.
  • Current plans: Starter at 999 EGP a month for up to 100 students; Basic at 1,999 EGP a month for up to 200 students; Pro at 2,999 EGP a month for up to 400 students.

Limits to know before you subscribe

  • No WhatsApp or SMS messages to parents. Absence and lateness appear as alerts inside the portal only.
  • Live-class attendance does not appear in the parent portal yet; centre attendance does.
  • No points, competitions or learning games inside the platform.
  • The picture sits on the question, not on each option, and there are no audio questions.
  • No app in the stores. Children and parents open it in a phone browser.
  • Live classes are on the Pro plan only.

Questions from primary and prep teachers

What is the best platform for a primary or prep teacher?

One that lets parents follow along, because they pay and they ask. On Snatr parents see attendance and grades on a portal on your site, and children study lessons that unlock in order with picture quizzes that mark themselves.

The child has no phone or email. How do they sign in?

Create the account by hand from the dashboard with a password you set, and give it to the parent.

A parent has three children. Do they need three accounts?

No. One parent account is linked to all their children, even in different years or groups.

Does a parent get a message when their child is absent?

Not by WhatsApp or SMS. Absence and lateness appear as alerts inside the parent portal on your site.

Can I put pictures in questions?

Yes, one picture per question. The options are text.

How much does it cost?

Current plans: Starter at 999 EGP a month for up to 100 students; Basic at 1,999 EGP a month for up to 200 students; Pro at 2,999 EGP a month for up to 400 students. The parent portal and attendance are in every plan, and live classes are on Pro only.

Can I try it before paying?

Yes: 7 days, without entering any card details. The trial starts when you press the trial button at the payment step, not when you sign up.
