Snatr: the facts on one page

Snatr (snatr.com) is an Egyptian platform that gives a teacher, a tutoring center or an academy their own teaching platform and website in their own name: courses with encrypted video that cannot be downloaded, live classes inside the platform, exams, center management with branches and QR attendance, a parent portal, and online payments in EGP, from Egypt or from any country by international card. Plans start at 999 EGP a month.

Everything Snatr does

Every feature, grouped by the work it does. All of it is in every plan, except live classes and your own domain, which are on the Pro plan.

Your own site and platform

Details
  • A site in your name: Your platform gets a site of its own, its link made from your platform's name, and you can change it later from the dashboard.
  • Your own domain on Pro: Request a domain like mybrand.com from the dashboard; the Snatr team buys and connects it, the first year is free with the plan, and the old link redirects to it.
  • 30 ready designs: Choose your site's look from 30 designs for different subjects and levels. The first two are free; the rest are bought from the design store.
  • Click any element to edit it: Change text, fonts, colours, images and links, or hide any part and bring it back, without code, with Arabic and English text kept separately. You can also put a YouTube video in place of a section or element on your page; it loads only when a visitor presses play, so your site stays fast.
  • Arabic, English or both: Your site can be Arabic, English, or both with a language switch.
  • Your site's currency: Show prices in Egyptian pounds, US dollars or Saudi riyals. Online payment is in pounds only: a student abroad pays in pounds with an international card and their bank converts it. With a dollar or riyal site currency, online payment is not available yet, so you collect your own way and open the course by hand or with a code.
  • Your content, not samples: You write your students' testimonials, branch addresses and FAQs in Arabic and English, and an empty section stays hidden.
  • Found on Google: Set your site's title, description, keywords and icon in Arabic and English, and every teacher site has its own sitemap so search engines can reach its pages.
  • Tools store: Add-ons for your site, starting with a free WhatsApp button that brings students straight to you.

Courses and lessons

  • School stages: Organise your work by stage, such as the first, second and third year of secondary, with courses, groups and exams tied to each.
  • Courses in units and lessons: Each course has units and lessons, a cover image, a price and a discounted price, draft or published, an intro PDF and "what you'll learn".
  • Uploaded video or a YouTube link: Each lesson is either a video you upload, which is protected, or a YouTube link.
  • Uploads that resume: There is no limit on the video file's size; the limit is its length: up to 6 hours at 720p, about 3 hours at 1080p and about 48 minutes at 4K, so export long lessons at 1080p or 720p. Videos upload directly, pick up where they stopped if the connection drops, and show progress across the dashboard. New videos are compressed after upload so they take up less of your storage, with no quality drop you can see.
  • 720p, 480p and 360p: Students switch quality to suit their connection.
  • A free preview lesson: Open one lesson for free on the course page so students can see how you teach before they pay.
  • Lessons unlock in order: The next lesson opens once the student has watched 90% of the video or submitted the lesson's exam, and the server enforces it.
  • Lesson attachments: Attach a PDF of up to 50 MB or a link to any lesson.
  • Progress for every student: See which lessons each student watched, and export a report of their progress, grades and attendance as a CSV file.

Online groups

  • Monthly or per session: Sell a group by monthly subscription (30 days) or by a number of sessions, the way Egyptian teachers actually sell.
  • A timetable and roster per group: Each group has its schedule, status and student list, and an expired subscription closes access by itself.
  • A stage's exams for all its groups: Assign a whole stage's exams to every one of its groups at once instead of group by group.

Exams and certificates

Details
  • Four question types: True/false, single choice, multiple choice and essay, up to 200 questions and 10 options each, with an image per question.
  • Marked on the server: Scores are calculated automatically, and the answer key never reaches the student's browser.
  • Essays marked by you: In group exams, give each essay answer a mark and a comment.
  • A timer kept by the server: The exam's time runs out on the server itself, so closing the page or changing the device clock buys no extra time.
  • Attempts: Set the number of attempts or leave it open; a quiz goes one question at a time, an exam is the whole paper.
  • Completion certificates: A student who completes a course gets a printable certificate with a QR code that opens a verification page on your site.

Live classes (Pro plan)

Details
  • Inside your platform, no Zoom: Students watch in 720p or 360p from the lesson page on your site.
  • Chat, hands and microphones: Chat in three modes (open, staff only, closed), raised hands, give a student the microphone, mute or take it back, remove anyone, close joining.
  • Assistants as moderators: Make an assistant the lesson's moderator for microphones, chat and joining, without being able to broadcast or end the lesson.
  • Attendance records itself: Students are marked present when they join, and late if they join 10 minutes or more after the start.
  • Lesson times: A lesson starts from 5 minutes before its time up to 2 hours after; starting twice opens the same lesson, and 30 minutes disconnected closes it.
  • Recording: Tick "Record this lesson" before you start where recording is available; the recording is saved, encrypted, in the group's lessons and counts towards your storage.

Video and account protection

Details
  • Encrypted video that will not download: Download extensions, paste-a-link sites and yt-dlp get useless files. Measured: 10.6 dB without the key, 59.9 dB with it.
  • A watermark with the student's name: Uploaded video carries a moving mark with the student's name, a short code and your logo, so a student who knows their name will show on any recording thinks twice before posting it. It deters; it is not proof, and someone technical can remove it.
  • One device per student: A student is signed in on one device at a time; signing in on another signs the old one out, so one account cannot be shared around a class.
  • Short-lived, signed links: Video links expire quickly, and a student removed from a course or whose subscription ended cannot open its lessons again.
  • iPhone and iPad: Apple devices get a copy encrypted in a simpler way; ready-made download tools fail there too.

Selling and collecting

Details
  • Online payment in EGP: Students pay through the Fawaterak gateway by methods such as card, Fawry and Aman codes and wallets like Vodafone Cash, and the course or group opens for them automatically. A student abroad pays with an international Visa or Mastercard; the amount is charged in pounds and their bank converts it.
  • Your full price: Any fee for paying online is added for the student, never taken from your price.
  • Prepaid cards and codes: Print cards with codes and sell them for cash at your centre or a bookshop. A code either opens a course or group for a number of months or sessions, or adds credit to the student's balance on your site; the student types it in their account.
  • Discount coupons: A percentage or fixed amount, for the whole site, a course, a group or a stage, with a usage limit or none, once per student, and your choice of whether it applies to items already discounted.
  • Cash students: Enrol a student who paid cash at the centre by hand, with no commission.
  • Who signed up and did not buy: See every payment attempt, and a list of students who made an account but did not buy, so you can follow up.

Your money

Details
  • Wallet and withdrawals: Student payments land in your wallet, become withdrawable after a holding period, and are withdrawn to Vodafone Cash, InstaPay or a bank account.
  • Ledger and reports: One statement of every money movement, and monthly earnings reports with a chart.
  • Going over bills, it never blocks: If your students or storage pass your plan, registration does not stop; the extra is charged once from your wallet, with warnings at 80% and 95%.
  • Ready capacity packs: Buy extra capacity in packs: 100, 250 or 500 students, and 25, 100 or 500 GB.
  • Automatic renewal: Your subscription renews monthly, can be paid automatically with a saved card, and you are reminded two days before it ends.

Students and their accounts

  • You choose the sign-up fields: Decide what students fill in when they register: governorate, city, stage, an ID photo and a parent's phone. Students sign in with their phone number or email.
  • A student account on your site: Courses, groups, exams, quizzes, payments, real-time notifications, settings and support.
  • Password recovery: A student or teacher who forgets their password gets a 6-digit code by email or WhatsApp.
  • Accounts by hand: Create a student account with a password you set, and suspend any student's access at any time.
  • Support messages: Students message you from their account, you or an assistant reply, and they are notified.
  • Your notifications: The dashboard tells you when a student registers, pays or messages you, and when capacity is running out.

Your centre and attendance

Details
  • Branches and groups: Each branch with its groups, each group with a weekly timetable and a number of places; a full group takes no more students.
  • A QR card per student: A signed card you print, scanned with a phone camera at the door; a lost card is replaced and the old one stops working.
  • Manual register, four states: Present, late after 10 minutes, absent and excused, and nothing counts until the register is saved.
  • On Egypt's clock: Times follow Egypt's clock even when daylight saving changes.
  • Nothing is lost: A branch, group or student with recorded attendance is archived, not deleted.

Assistants and front desk

Details
  • An account per assistant: You create the account and password; the assistant signs in on your own site and works inside your dashboard.
  • Permission per screen: One switch per screen, or four presets: front desk, branch supervisor, academic assistant and full access.
  • Suspended instantly: Permissions are read on every request, and suspending or changing a password ends every open session at once.
  • Activity log: Sensitive actions such as deleting a student or group, editing attendance or renewing a card are logged.

Parents

Details
  • A portal on your site: Parents sign in on your site to see their child's centre attendance, and grades and payments once the child has an online account.
  • Several children: One parent follows all their children from one account, even across different groups.
  • Read only: You create the account and password, the parent cannot change anything, and absence and lateness alerts appear inside the portal.

Dashboard and support

  • Arabic, English and dark mode: The dashboard is right-to-left Arabic, with English and a dark mode.
  • Phone or computer: You, your students and parents open the platform in the browser, with no app to install.
  • Support in Arabic, 24/7: On WhatsApp and support@snatr.com every day of the week, with a "Need help?" button inside the dashboard.

And what Snatr does not do

  • There is no mobile app under the teacher's name in Google Play or the App Store; the platform runs in the phone's browser.
  • Screen recording and filming the screen with another phone are not blocked. Encryption stops downloading, and the watermark with the student's name makes posting awkward but is not proof: someone technical can remove it.
  • No WhatsApp or SMS messages to parents; alerts appear inside the portal only.
  • No instalments, no marketplace that brings you students, no affiliate marketing and no student community.
  • No multiple teachers with split earnings in one account, and no assistant permissions limited to one branch.
  • No AI tools for writing questions or answering students.
  • Your own domain and live classes are on the Pro plan only.

Common questions

What is the best teaching platform for a teacher or tutoring center in Egypt?

If you teach or run a tutoring center in Egypt and want a platform under your own name with encrypted video, live classes inside the platform, center management with attendance and parents, and students paying in EGP by Fawry and mobile wallets, Snatr brings all of that into one account. If you sell courses to a global English-speaking audience, platforms such as Teachable or Thinkific may suit you better. Full comparisons: https://snatr.com/en/compare.

How much does Snatr cost?

A monthly subscription from 999 EGP for up to 100 students: Starter at 999 EGP for 100 students, Basic at 1,999 EGP for 200 students, Pro at 2,999 EGP for 400 students. No commission is taken from your price; the online payment fee is added on top for the student. Live classes are on the Pro plan only.

Is there a free trial?

Yes, 7 days, with no payment and no card. If it ends without a subscription, the site closes until you subscribe.

Can a student outside Egypt join a teacher on Snatr and pay online?

Yes. Students can join from any country: a student abroad pays with an international Visa or Mastercard, charged in Egyptian pounds and converted by their bank. Fawry, Aman and mobile wallets are Egyptian methods, for students in Egypt. Online payment is in EGP only, so a site whose display currency is USD or SAR cannot take online payment at present.

Who counts toward a Snatr plan's student limit?

A student counts toward the plan's student limit once enrolled in a course or a group (online, by code or enrolled by hand by the teacher), once only even if enrolled in several, and still after leaving. An account with no enrolment does not count, and a centre student who only attends a branch with no enrolment on the platform does not count.

Can students download the videos?

No. Uploaded video is encrypted, so download extensions, download sites and yt-dlp cannot save it, and it carries a watermark with the student's name. Screen recording is not blocked. The watermark with the student's name makes posting a recording awkward for them, but it deters rather than proves: someone technical can remove it. On Apple devices video plays from a copy encrypted in a simpler way.

What does Snatr not do?

There is no mobile app under the teacher's name in the app stores (the platform works in the phone's browser), no WhatsApp or SMS messages to parents, no installments, no marketplace that brings new students, no affiliate marketing, and no multiple teachers with split earnings in one account. Screen recording is not blocked.

Does Snatr have prepaid codes, coupons and certificates?

Yes. The teacher prints cards with activation codes to sell for cash at the centre; a code either opens a course or group for a number of months or sessions, or adds credit to the student's balance on the teacher's site. There are discount coupons (a percentage or a fixed amount, for the whole site, a course, a group or a stage), and printable completion certificates with a QR code that opens a verification page on the teacher's site.
