Buyer's guide

Best tutoring centre management software 2026: a neutral buyer's guide

No single centre program is best for everyone, and the choice turns on one question: do you run a centre only, or a centre and online teaching? For a centre only, with the lowest subscription or expense accounting in mind, Egyptian programs start at 299 and 500 EGP a month as published on their sites. If you teach at the centre and online, Snatr combines QR attendance, groups, parents, courses and payments in one account from 999 EGP a month.

Last updated:

  • Decide first: software for the centre only, or for the centre and online teaching together.
  • Ask every program 9 questions: attendance, parents, staff permissions, online teaching, payments, pricing model, data ownership, phone use and support.
  • Other programs' prices here are copied from their sites when reviewed in October 2026 and may change.
  • Snatr is not the best fit if you need centre expense accounting, WhatsApp messages to parents, or several teachers each with their own earnings.

First: do you need centre software only, or centre and online?

This is the most important question in the whole guide, because the programs in the Egyptian market are built for two different jobs. Some are built for the work inside the room: attendance, cash collected at the desk, groups and messages to parents. Others are built for a teacher selling lessons online, and some have added a centre module.

  • If all your students attend in person and you do not plan to sell online, centre-only software will do and will usually cost less.
  • If you teach at the centre and sell courses or groups online, you need something that ties both together, or you pay for two programs and enter each student twice.
  • If your main problem is the books, rent and salaries, you need accounting software, not attendance software.
  • If the centre is small with one or two groups, Excel or a paper register can do until you grow.

9 questions to ask any centre management software before you pay

Ask every program the same questions and write the answers side by side. Anything not written on their site, ask them to confirm in writing.

  • How is attendance taken? A printed card the student carries, a code on a screen the student scans with their phone, or a register? And what stops a student checking in for an absent friend?
  • How do parents follow along? A portal they log into, messages on WhatsApp or Telegram, or an app? Do they see attendance only, or grades and payments too?
  • Staff permissions: can the receptionist take attendance without seeing the money? If an assistant leaves, is their account closed at once?
  • Online: does the program sell courses and groups online and protect video, or will you need a second platform?
  • Payments: does the student pay online with the course opening by itself, or transfer money and send a receipt photo someone has to check?
  • Pricing model: monthly subscription, one-time purchase with annual fees, or a setup fee? How does the price grow with the number of students?
  • Data ownership: is the data on your computer with backups your job, or on a server? Can you export it? What happens to it if you stop paying?
  • Phone use: does it run in a phone browser, as an Android app only, or on Windows on one laptop?
  • Support: in Arabic? On WhatsApp? Is there written help or video guides?

Who is each program for?

Each of these programs is strong at something. This is a summary of what we found on their pages; the details and sources are on each comparison page:

  • Koshoof suits you if the centre's internet is weak and you want your data on your own computer only, all your students have phones, and parents use Telegram. It also handles monthly subscriptions and session packages.
  • Smart Center suits you if you need centre-only software at the lowest subscription, or want to buy it once, and centre accounts and payment status at the door matter most.
  • Shater suits you if you run a nursery or a centre with several teachers, need a cash box and accounts, and your parents are on Android and want chat with the teacher.
  • KIRA suits you if your centre has many teachers and needs expense and profit accounting, parents expect a WhatsApp message with each check-in, or you hand out paper sheets and want to grade them in the same system.
  • TGO Center suits you if you need a centre-only system at the lowest price, or want a mobile app in your name and a team that sets everything up.
  • Snatr suits you if you teach at the centre and online and want both in one account, want students to pay online by Fawry, wallet or card with the course opening by itself, want encrypted video with the student's name on it, and want parents to follow from any phone. A student who only attends the centre, with no course or group enrolment on the platform, does not count toward your plan's student limit.

When is Snatr the wrong choice?

We wrote this guide, so we should say clearly when another program will serve you better than Snatr:

  • If you need the centre's own accounts: rent, salaries, expenses and profit. Snatr does not have that part, and accounting software or a centre program with a cash box will fit better.
  • If all you need is attendance at the lowest price and you will never teach online. Some centre-only programs publish lower prices.
  • If your parents must get a WhatsApp or SMS message with every absence. Snatr does not send messages; alerts stay inside the portal.
  • If the centre has several teachers, each with their own earnings. A Snatr account is one teacher, with no earnings split.
  • If the centre's internet drops often. Snatr works online only.
  • If you need an app in the stores. Snatr runs in the browser.

Excel or a paper register: when are they enough?

Excel is free and flexible, and a paper register needs neither internet nor power. For a small centre with one or two groups and one assistant, they may truly be enough, and you do not have to pay for software from day one.

The trouble starts as the centre grows. Attendance is copied by hand after each session, each branch has its own file, every staff member sees everything, and parents call because they cannot see anything. If the file is deleted or the notebook is lost, the whole record goes with it.

A sign you need software: you spend time after every session copying names, or you answer parents' calls more than you prepare lessons.

Data ownership: where is your data, and what happens if you stop paying?

Many people forget this. Some programs keep data on your computer, which means they work offline, but backups are your job and a broken or stolen laptop can take everything. Others run on a server, so you open them from any device, but they need internet.

  • In Snatr the data is on the server and opens in any browser.
  • A branch, group or student with recorded attendance is archived, not deleted.
  • A student's report (progress, grades and attendance) exports as a CSV file.
  • If a subscription ends without renewal, your site closes for students and parents until you subscribe, and no data is deleted.

Other programs you may hear about

There are other centre programs in the Egyptian market, such as Hader, Amedra, Centrix and Trax, and accounting software such as Daftra. We have not reviewed their pages in the same detail, so we will not write prices or features for them that may be wrong. Ask each of them the nine questions above and compare the answers with the table.

Try before you pay, and try properly

Most programs offer a trial or a demo. A proper trial is not looking around the dashboard; it is taking real attendance at the centre's door for a week.

  • Pick one group and take its attendance with the software and the old register side by side, then compare.
  • Let the receptionist use it, not you, and count how often they need to ask you.
  • Create an account for one parent you know, and ask what they saw and whether it made sense.
  • On Snatr: There is no free-forever plan, but there is a 7-day trial with no card. The trial starts when you press the trial button at the payment step, not when you sign up.

Limits of this guide, and of Snatr

  • This guide is written by the Snatr team. We tried to be fair and only repeated what other programs publish on their own sites, but treat us as a party to the comparison.
  • Other programs' prices and features come from a review on 7 October 2026 and may have changed.
  • Snatr has no centre accounting, no WhatsApp or SMS messages to parents, and no multiple teachers with separate earnings.
  • Snatr needs internet and has no app in the stores.
  • A printed Snatr card can be photographed and sent to an absent student. The platform stops the same card counting twice in a session, but not attendance by proxy with a photo of it.

Questions about choosing centre software

What is the best software for a private tutoring centre in Egypt?

It depends on your work. For a centre only, at the lowest price or with accounting, programs such as TGO Center, Smart Center and Shater cost less by their published prices. If you teach at the centre and online, Snatr combines both in one account.

How much does centre management software cost in Egypt?

As published on their sites in October 2026: TGO Center from 299 EGP a month, Smart Center and Shater from 500 EGP, and Koshoof and KIRA do not publish prices. Snatr starts at 999 EGP a month and includes online teaching.

Is there free centre management software?

Excel and a paper register are free and can do for a small centre. The programs in the table are paid, and most offer a trial. On Snatr: There is no free-forever plan, but there is a 7-day trial with no card.

Is there centre software that works offline?

Koshoof says on its site that it works offline on Windows, and TGO has an attendance app that keeps working offline. Snatr needs internet because it runs in the browser.

How do I stop a student checking in for an absent friend?

No method is complete. A changing code with GPS, which Koshoof says it uses, is harder to cheat but needs a phone with every student. A printed card like Snatr's needs no phone and cannot count twice in a session, but a photo of it can be sent to an absent student.

Should I choose software for a computer or for a phone?

Computer software ties you to one machine and its backups. Browser software opens on any phone or computer but needs internet. Snatr runs in the browser with no app.

My centre has several teachers. What should I choose?

Snatr is not the best fit here, because an account is one teacher. As published on their sites, Shater supports 3 teachers on its first plan and 50 on its enterprise plan, TGO supports 10 or 50 teachers depending on the plan, and KIRA tracks teachers' accounts.
