Cost guide

How much does a teaching platform cost in Egypt in 2026?

On Snatr, a teaching platform costs a monthly subscription starting at 999 EGP, with nothing up front and no hosting or domain to buy. Having one built for a teacher or tutoring centre in Egypt starts with a large one-off payment, followed by monthly costs for hosting, video delivery and maintenance. This page breaks down every item, with a calculator to compare both routes for your number of students.

Last updated:

  • The real cost is more than the build: hosting, video, protection, payment fees and maintenance keep coming every month.
  • On Snatr the subscription is monthly and starts at 999 EGP; hosting, video, protection and updates are included.
  • A student above your plan is billed once, when they are added, at your plan's extra-student price, not every month.
  • Your price reaches you in full; any platform commission is added on top for the student.

Work out what your platform costs

Enter your number of students and the storage you need, and the calculator shows the plan that fits and what it costs at current prices.

Videos, lesson recordings, images and PDFs all count towards storage.

The plan that fits

Basic: 1,999 EGP a month

Your students and storage fit inside the plan, so there is nothing extra to pay.

Prices come from Snatr's current plans, and the subscription is monthly. Your price reaches you in full; any online payment fee is added for the student.

What does it cost to build a teaching platform in Egypt?

It depends on how you get the platform, not on the platform itself. There are two main routes: pay a developer or an agency a large sum once to build one, then pay running costs every month; or subscribe to a ready platform like Snatr for a fixed monthly fee, with the running costs on the platform.

Development firms advertise prices in the tens of thousands of pounds for a teaching platform, and the figure varies widely with what is asked for. So we will not quote you a market price, because any number we gave would be a guess. What we can say with confidence is that the developer's fee is only the first item, and the items after it are what make the difference over a year or two.

On Snatr the sum is simpler: a monthly subscription based on how many students you have and how much video you upload, with no setup fee. Current prices are below, taken live from the plans themselves.

What does a teaching platform cost to run?

Every teaching platform, custom-built or subscribed to, spends on the same items. With a custom build you pay each one separately; with a subscription they sit inside the monthly price.

  • Development: building the site, the dashboard, the student account, exams and course pages. This is the figure the developer quotes first.
  • Hosting: the server the platform runs on, paid monthly or yearly, and more expensive as your student numbers grow.
  • Video storage and streaming: videos are large, and every student who watches uses bandwidth. This item grows with every new student.
  • Video protection: encrypting video so download tools cannot save it takes technical work and paid services, and not every developer does it.
  • Payment gateway fees: the payment company takes a percentage or a fee on each transaction, and you need a merchant account in your name to accept cards, Fawry and mobile wallets.
  • Maintenance and updates: bug fixes, security updates, and keeping up with new browsers and phones. This lasts as long as the platform runs.
  • Design: the look of the site, the course page and the checkout, and any later change is new work.
  • Domain: an address like mybrand.com, renewed every year.

How do I use the calculator?

Use the calculator above to compare both routes for your own situation. Enter your number of students and the number of months to compare over, and it shows the cost of a Snatr subscription next to the cost of a custom build over the same period.

Compare over at least a year, not the first month. A custom build looks expensive at first and its monthly costs then look small; a subscription looks cheap at first and adds up over time. The fair comparison adds up everything you will pay over the same period.

If you have a quote from a developer, enter their figure instead of the default and add the hosting and maintenance costs they gave you. If they did not give you any, that is the first thing to ask.

Custom build, WordPress, or a subscription platform?

All three exist and each has its place. This table shows what you pay for in each:

How much does Snatr cost per month?

Current plans: Starter at 999 EGP a month for up to 100 students; Basic at 1,999 EGP a month for up to 200 students; Pro at 2,999 EGP a month for up to 400 students. It is monthly, with no setup fee, no hosting to pay separately, no domain to buy and no code to write.

Every feature is in every plan except two, which are on Pro only: live classes and your own domain like mybrand.com. Plans differ in students, storage and the price of an extra student.

Storage counts the videos you upload and lesson recordings, plus images and PDFs. Delete a video and its space comes back. Your platform runs on a site in your name from day one.

Your first two site designs are free, and more can be bought from the design store. On Pro, the first year of your own domain is free with the plan, and the Snatr team buys and connects it for you.

If you need more than the largest plan, large centres can ask for a custom plan from the sales page, and our team replies within 24 hours.

What do I pay if I go over my plan?

New students still register and nothing is closed. Each student above your plan's limit is charged to your Snatr wallet at your plan's extra-student price, shown on each plan on the pricing page.

That charge is paid once, when the student is added, and the seat stays theirs. It does not repeat every month, so do not count it as part of the monthly subscription. Storage works the same way, billed per gigabyte.

The platform warns you at 80% and 95% of your limit so nothing comes as a surprise. If you know you will grow, ready capacity packs are available: 100, 250 or 500 extra students, and 25, 100 or 500 GB. If the excess becomes permanent, ask support to move you to another plan, since plan changes go through them.

What does the student pay, and what do you receive?

Your price reaches you in full. If the platform charges a commission on online payments, it is added on top for the student and never deducted from you. For example, at a price of 1,000 EGP and a 10% commission, the student pays 1,100 and you receive 1,000. Snatr bears the payment gateway's fee.

Money lands in your Snatr wallet and becomes withdrawable after a holding period (currently 7 days). You withdraw to Vodafone Cash, InstaPay or your bank account, with a current minimum of 100 EGP. A student who paid you cash at the centre is enrolled by you, with no commission.

A way to work out the cost per student: the smallest plan is 999 EGP a month for up to 100 students. Divide the plan price by your actual number of students to see what each one costs you in subscription per month, then compare that with the monthly fee or per-session price the student pays you.

A developer quoted me 40,000 EGP. Is that reasonable?

You cannot judge the figure without knowing what it covers. 40,000 for a platform with video encryption, Fawry and wallet payments, exams and a year of maintenance is not the same as 40,000 for a site with course pages and YouTube videos.

Ask for a written quote listing every feature, who pays for hosting and video storage, how long maintenance lasts after delivery and what it costs afterwards, and who owns the code. Then divide the sum by Snatr's monthly price to see how many months of subscription it equals, before any running costs.

Hidden costs to ask any provider about

The question is not only "how much is the platform?". Ask any developer, agency or platform about these, and get the answers in writing:

  • What does hosting cost to renew, and does it go up as students grow?
  • How is video storage and streaming charged: by space or by views?
  • Who pays the payment company's fees, and is a commission deducted from my price?
  • How long is maintenance free after delivery, and what does it cost after that?
  • If students go over the plan, is the excess charged once or every month?
  • What does the domain cost to renew, and whose name is it in?
  • Are there fees on withdrawals or on extra designs?

Worth knowing about Snatr's cost

  • There is no free-forever plan, but there is a 7-day trial with no card.
  • Live classes and your own domain are on Pro only, and the domain is requested after a paid subscription, not during the trial.
  • There is no mobile app under your name on Google Play or the App Store; the platform runs in the phone's browser. If an app is a must for you, a custom build suits you better.
  • There are no instalments for students through ValU or banks.
  • You cannot change plan yourself from the dashboard; plan changes go through support.
  • If a subscription ends unpaid, your site closes to students and parents until you subscribe, and no data is deleted.

Questions about the cost of a teaching platform

How much does a teaching platform cost in Egypt in 2026?

On Snatr the subscription starts at 999 EGP a month, with nothing up front and no hosting. A custom build starts with a large up-front sum, development firms advertise prices in the tens of thousands of pounds, and hosting and maintenance follow every month.

Is it cheaper to build my own platform or to subscribe monthly?

Compare over at least a year and add everything up: development, hosting, video and maintenance. Use the calculator above with your number of students and the quote you have.

What are a platform's monthly costs once it is built?

Hosting, video storage and streaming, payment gateway fees, maintenance and updates, and the yearly domain renewal. On Snatr these are included in the monthly subscription.

Is Snatr priced by students or by storage?

Both: each plan has a student limit and a storage limit. An extra student is charged once, when added, at your plan's extra-student price, and extra storage is billed per gigabyte. A student counts toward the limit only once enrolled in a course or a group, and only once even if enrolled in several. An account with no enrolment does not count, and neither does a centre student who only attends a branch with no enrolment on the platform.

Is there an affordable option for a teacher with 50 students?

Snatr's smallest plan is 999 EGP a month for up to 100 students, so 50 students fit in it. And there is a trial before you pay.

Does Snatr take a cut of my money?

No, your price reaches you in full. If there is a commission on online payments it is added on top for the student, and Snatr bears the payment gateway's fee.

Is there a free trial?

Yes: 7 days, without entering any card details. The trial starts when you press the trial button at the payment step, not when you sign up.
