Looking for tutoring centre software? Groups, attendance and online teaching in one account

Snatr is Egyptian tutoring centre management software that runs in the browser and puts your centre and your online teaching in one account. You organise branches, groups and timetables, take attendance with QR cards, parents follow their children on a portal on your own site, and front-desk staff work with the permissions you set. It includes a site in the centre's name for selling courses. Plans start at 999 EGP a month, and centre management is in every plan.

Last updated:

  • Branches, groups, QR attendance, the parent portal and assistants are in every plan, not held back for a pricier one.
  • Print prepaid activation cards to sell for cash at the front desk, and create discount coupons.
  • A student who paid cash at the centre is enrolled by hand, with no commission.
  • Live classes are on the Pro plan only.
  • One account is one teacher: there is no splitting earnings between several teachers.

How do you run your centre on Snatr?

  1. 1

Create your account and name the platform

Sign up with your name, WhatsApp number and platform name, and you get a site in your name. The trial or subscription starts at the payment step, not at sign-up.

  2. 2

    Add branches and groups

Create a branch for each place you teach, and inside each branch the groups with their weekly timetable and number of places.

  3. 3

Register students and print attendance cards

Every centre student gets an ST- code and a QR card you print and hand over. If the student also has an online account on your site, you link the two.

  4. 4

Create accounts for staff and parents

Give each assistant an account with a preset such as front desk, and give each parent an account linked to their children. You set the password in both cases.

  5. 5

Take attendance from the first session

The front desk opens the scan screen in a phone browser and scans cards at the door, or opens the register, ticks who is there and saves.

What is a centre system on Snatr?

The centre system is the same account you run your online platform from. It is not a separate program installed on one computer, and not another website with another password. You open it in a phone or computer browser and everything is saved on the server, so a broken laptop does not take your records with it.

  • Organise your branches and groups, their timetables and the number of places in each group.
  • Take attendance with a QR card at the door, or with a register on a phone.
  • Parents log in to a portal on your site and see their child's attendance.
  • Each assistant sees only the screens you allowed.
  • The same student can attend at the centre, watch your courses and sit exams on your site.

I have several branches. How do I organise groups and timetables?

Each branch has its groups, and each group has a weekly timetable and a number of places. When a group is full, the platform refuses another student until you raise the number, so you will not find 40 students in a room that holds 30.

If a student moves from the Saturday group to the Sunday group, you move them and their attendance history goes with them. Times follow Egypt's clock, including when daylight saving changes.

A branch, group or student with recorded attendance is archived, never deleted, so last year's records are still there when you need them.

Attendance at the centre: QR card or register?

Both are there, and you pick what suits your door. Every student has a signed QR card printed from their profile. The front desk opens the camera in the browser, scans the card, and the student is marked for the session in progress.

  • In the manual register everyone starts absent, one button marks everyone present, and nothing counts until you press save.
  • There are four states: present, late, absent and excused. Arriving 10 or more minutes after the start counts as late.
  • If a card is lost or photographed, issue a new one and the old one stops working at that moment.
  • The same card cannot count twice in the same session.
  • Scanning needs the browser to be allowed to use the camera.

Parents follow along without calling the centre

You create an account for each parent on your site and link it to their children, even when each child is in a different group. The parent sees centre attendance, absences and lateness, and sees grades and payments once the child has a linked online account. The account is read-only, and absence and lateness alerts appear inside the portal.

The platform does not send WhatsApp or SMS messages to parents. If your parents expect a message with every absence, know that before you subscribe.

Front desk: everyone sees their own work only

An assistant signs in from the assistants' login page on your own site with an account and password you created, and works inside your dashboard on the screens you opened for them.

  • There is one switch per screen and four presets: front desk, branch supervisor, academic assistant and full access.
  • Permissions are read on every request, so a screen you close is closed for them at once.
  • Suspending an assistant or changing their password ends all their open sessions immediately.
  • A log shows who did what for 7 sensitive actions, such as deleting a student or group, saving a register, editing attendance and renewing a card.
  • An assistant belongs to your whole account. Per-branch permissions do not exist yet.

Money at the centre: cash, prepaid cards, coupons and online payment

Most centres collect cash at the desk, and that keeps working without changing your routine. Next to it there is online payment, prepaid cards and coupons, and you use whichever suits you.

Money paid online becomes withdrawable after a holding period (currently 7 days), the minimum withdrawal is currently 100 EGP, and you withdraw to Vodafone Cash, InstaPay or a bank account. If the platform charges a commission on online payments, it is added on top for the student and never taken from you.

How it worksWhere the money goes
Cash at the deskYou enrol the student in the course or group by handInto your hand, with no commission and nothing credited to your Snatr wallet
Prepaid cardsPrint cards and sell them at the centre or in bookshops. A code either opens a course or group for a number of months or sessions, or adds credit to the student's balance on your siteInto your hand when the card is sold
Online paymentThe student pays in EGP by card, a Fawry or Aman code, or a wallet such as Vodafone Cash, and the course opens by itselfYour Snatr wallet, with your full price
Discount couponsA percentage or a fixed amount, for the whole site, a course, a group or a stage, once per studentLowers what the student pays

Centre and online together: a website in the centre's name

The centre system comes with a full website in the centre's name. You pick its look from 30 ready designs and change the text, colours, images and logo yourself, without code.

  • Sell recorded courses split into units and lessons, and online groups by monthly subscription or per session.
  • Videos you upload are encrypted against download tools and carry a watermark with the student's name.
  • Exams are graded on the server, and the timer is enforced by the server, not the browser.
  • Live classes inside the platform are on the Pro plan, with attendance recorded automatically.
  • A custom domain such as mycenter.com is on the Pro plan after a paid subscription.

A large centre? Pricing and the custom plan

Current plans: Starter at 999 EGP a month for up to 100 students; Basic at 1,999 EGP a month for up to 200 students; Pro at 2,999 EGP a month for up to 400 students. Every feature is in every plan except live classes and the custom domain, which are on Pro. Plans differ in students, storage and the price of an extra student.

If you go over your plan, a new student still registers and sign-ups are never closed. Each extra student is charged once, when they are added, at your plan's extra-student price, from your wallet. Ready packs add 100, 250 or 500 students.

Centre students who only attend your branches do not count toward your plan's student limit. A student counts once enrolled in a course or a group on the platform, whether they paid online, used a code or you enrolled them by hand; they count once even if enrolled in several, and still count after leaving. So a student you keep on the QR register with no online enrolment takes no place in your plan.

If your centre is bigger than the largest plan, ask for a custom plan. Tell us the students and storage you need, and our team replies within 24 hours.

Snatr or another centre program?

Some programs are for the centre only: some run on your own computer without internet, others include expense accounting and messages to parents. If all your work is inside the centre and you do not plan to teach online, one of those may suit you better and cost less. Snatr makes the difference when the centre and online teaching are one business.

Limits to know before you subscribe

  • One account is one teacher. There is no centre with several teachers each keeping their own earnings yet. The closest is giving other teachers assistant accounts and writing the teacher's name on the group.
  • An assistant belongs to the whole account; there are no per-branch permissions.
  • There is no accounting for the centre itself, such as rent, salaries and expenses. If that is your main need, accounting software will suit you better.
  • There are no WhatsApp or SMS messages to parents. Alerts appear inside the portal only.
  • A printed card can be photographed and sent to an absent student. The platform stops the same card counting twice in a session, but not attendance by proxy with a photo of it.
  • There is no app in the stores. You, your staff, students and parents open it in a phone browser.

Questions from centre owners

What is the best software for running a tutoring centre?

It depends on your work. If you teach at the centre and online, Snatr keeps groups, attendance, parents, courses and payments in one account. If you need centre expenses accounting or WhatsApp messages to parents, another centre program or accounting software will suit you better.

How much is the centre system on Snatr?

Current plans: Starter at 999 EGP a month for up to 100 students; Basic at 1,999 EGP a month for up to 200 students; Pro at 2,999 EGP a month for up to 400 students. Centre management with branches, attendance, parents and assistants is in every plan, and live classes are on Pro only.

Can several teachers at the centre work on one account?

They can join as assistants with the permissions you set, but all the money goes into one wallet. There is no splitting earnings between teachers yet.

A student pays cash at the centre. How do I open the course for them?

Enrol them by hand in the course or group with no commission, or sell them a prepaid card with a code they type into their account on your site.

Does the centre software work on a phone?

Yes, in the phone's browser, and QR cards are scanned with the phone's camera. There is no app to install.

Do parents get a message when their child is absent?

Not by WhatsApp or SMS. Absence and lateness appear as alerts inside the parent portal on your site.

Can I try it before paying?

Yes: 7 days, without entering any card details. The trial starts when you press the trial button at the payment step, not when you sign up.

My centre is bigger than the largest plan. What do I do?

Ask for a custom plan from the sales contact page, and our team replies within 24 hours with an offer that fits the centre.
