What is TKDS LMS from TKDS MENA, and who is it for?

TKDS LMS is a learning management system from TKDS MENA, which also operates as TKDS MEDIA. Its website is tkdslms.com, and it describes itself as a complete, branded learning platform for teachers, academies, schools and companies.

The company's roots are in broadcasting and media, such as instant replay systems in stadiums and camera broadcast lines. It has offices in Cairo and in Ohio in the United States, and its terms of use are governed by Egyptian law.

It works in two ways. The first is a free plan with no subscription, where it takes 40% of every sale. The second is paid plans in US dollars per year by number of students, starting at $660 for 250 students, with no commission. The features are the same on every paid plan.

TKDS has many ready-made features. It has mobile and desktop apps, certificates with a verification code, live classes inside the platform and a parent account. It also has installments, coupons, affiliate marketing and multiple teachers. Its pages are frank about its limits, and include a list called "what we haven't built yet".

What is missing from its pages is the daily work of a tutoring center in Egypt: branches and groups with times and places, and an attendance register by card. That is the main difference from Snatr, which is built for teachers and centers in Egypt and priced in EGP. If you are comparing Snatr with other platforms, see all Snatr comparisons.

TKDS or Snatr for an Egyptian teacher: which costs less in EGP for the same number of students?

Snatr costs less for the same number of students. 100 students cost you 11,988 EGP a year on Snatr, paid month by month. On the first TKDS paid plan they cost you 34,624 EGP, paid a year upfront.

In Snatr

  • Starter: 999 EGP a month for 100 students and 50 GB.
  • Basic: 1,999 EGP a month for 200 students and 150 GB.
  • Pro: 2,999 EGP a month for 400 students and 300 GB, with live classes and a custom domain.
  • No commission on your price. The online payment fee is added on top of your price for the student.
  • The subscription is monthly in EGP, so you do not need to pay a year upfront.

In ⁨TKDS⁩

  • Starter: $660 a year for 250 students, which is 34,624 EGP.
  • Growth: $1,100 for 500 students (57,706 EGP), and Scale: $1,870 for 1,000 students (98,100 EGP).
  • Enterprise: $3,850 for 2,500 students, and Custom at a special price.
  • The subscription is a year upfront in US dollars, or 6 monthly installments at 15% more.
  • No commission on paid plans, and the features are the same on all of them.

Example: a teacher with 100 students paying 300 EGP a month

Snatr leaves you 11,001 EGP more a month than the TKDS free plan, and 1,886 EGP more than its Starter plan

The US dollar at 52.46 EGP, the Central Bank of Egypt selling rate on 7 October 2026. The TKDS Starter subscription ($660) is divided over 12 months, but it is paid once at the start of the year and covers up to 250 students. On Snatr, a student who pays online pays the payment fee on top of the 300 EGP. The difference is about 22,636 EGP a year against Starter, and about 132,012 EGP against the free plan.

If you do not have the sum at onceNot needed, payment is monthly anyway6 installments at 15% more: Starter 39,817 EGP

These prices are from the TKDS pricing page on 7 October 2026. Paid plans renew every year, and you can cancel at any time with the service continuing to the end of the term. If the platform does not do what their website says, they refund in full within 14 days of the first payment. Because the price is in US dollars, the renewal cost in EGP changes with the exchange rate.

TKDS calculates the cost per student per year: $2.64 on Starter if all 250 seats are filled, about 138 EGP. On Snatr, a student on a full Starter plan costs about 120 EGP a year, and on a full Pro plan about 90 EGP.

If you run an academy with a thousand students or more, Snatr has a custom plan by agreement, so ask for a quote. Note that a branch student with no online enrollment does not count toward a Snatr plan at all.

If you have 250 students, the Snatr Basic plan covers 200. The 50 extra are charged once at 10 EGP per student, which is 500 EGP, not every month. See Snatr pricing in detail.

The TKDS free plan at 40%: who is it for?

The TKDS free plan has no subscription, but it takes 40% of every sale. It works if your sales are very low. With 100 students paying 300 EGP, it leaves you 18,000 EGP instead of 29,001 on Snatr.

In Snatr

  • No permanent free plan. There is a 7-day free trial.
  • After the trial, a fixed subscription from 999 EGP a month, and the site closes without a subscription.
  • Your price reaches you in full however much your sales grow.

In ⁨TKDS⁩

  • No subscription and no activation fee. TKDS takes 40% of every sale, and you get 60%.
  • You choose: a platform in your name on a TKDS subdomain, or publishing on their shared platform.
  • Their team reviews your request within 24 to 48 hours, with no card needed.
  • Students use the TKDS app, and TKDS handles payment and collection.
  • How and when your share is paid out is not stated on their pages.

The 40% takes 120 EGP from every student who pays 300. So from 9 students a month, the TKDS share is larger than the whole Snatr subscription, and the gap grows with every student.

With 100 students, the difference is 11,001 EGP a month, about 132,000 EGP a year. TKDS itself advises teachers to move to a paid plan once its share costs more than the plan.

If a student is refunded on the free plan, TKDS also returns its share of that sale, according to its refund policy.

Does TKDS accept payment in EGP, Fawry and mobile wallets?

Partly. TKDS connects the Fawaterk gateway for cards, Fawry and Meeza, but on paid plans the gateway runs on an account in your name, and wallets are not mentioned. On Snatr the student pays by card, Fawry or mobile wallet without you opening any account.

In Snatr

  • The student pays in EGP by card, Visa and Mastercard.
  • Fawry: the student gets a code and pays it at any Fawry outlet within 24 hours.
  • Mobile wallets (such as Vodafone Cash).
  • The money goes into your Snatr wallet, and you withdraw it to Vodafone Cash, InstaPay or the bank.
  • A student who paid cash at the center is registered manually, with no fee.

In ⁨TKDS⁩

  • Gateways: Stripe, PayPal and Fawaterk for Egypt, plus Tabby and Tamara for installments in the Gulf.
  • Next to Fawaterk it says: cards, Fawry and Meeza. Wallets such as Vodafone Cash are not mentioned.
  • On paid plans you activate the gateway with your own account, and until your account is reviewed you start with bank transfer.
  • Bank transfer by uploading a photo of the receipt, which the admin accepts or rejects with a reason.
  • Installments from the platform, and a student wallet the student tops up and pays from.

This comes from the TKDS features page and admin guide on 7 October 2026. Fawaterk was added in August 2026, according to their changelog.

On a paid plan, the student's money lands in your account with the payment company, and its fees are between you and them. On the free plan, TKDS collects and sends you 60%, and the payout method is not written down.

On Snatr, money becomes available to withdraw after a safety period that is currently 7 days, and the minimum withdrawal is currently 100 EGP. These are settings that may change.

In short: If most of your students pay with Vodafone Cash, ask TKDS before you subscribe: will wallets be available on your account or not?

Video protection on TKDS and Snatr: deterrence or encryption?

TKDS says itself that its protection layers are deterrence, not DRM. Snatr encrypts uploaded video, so the well-known download tools cannot save it, and the measurement is published. Both have a moving watermark and a device limit.

In Snatr

  • Uploaded video is encrypted, and its key goes to the decryption module in the browser, not to the page.
  • Download extensions, "paste the link and download" sites and yt-dlp cannot save it.
  • A watermark moves across the video and shows the student's name.
  • A student is signed in on one device at a time: signing in on a new device signs the old one out.
  • Video storage from 50 to 300 GB depending on the plan.

In ⁨TKDS⁩

  • A moving watermark with the student's email, on the website and the apps.
  • The video blurs when the student leaves the screen, and right-click and picture-in-picture are disabled.
  • The video link is hidden from the page, which by their own account only makes downloading harder.
  • Device limit of 3 by default, which you can change, with separate limits for phone and computer.
  • There is no DRM encryption, and video storage is not stated in the pricing.

On its security page, TKDS lists DRM encryption (such as Widevine and FairPlay) under "what we haven't built yet", and says its four layers are deterrence, not DRM. It also says no browser protection stops someone holding a phone camera. That frankness is to their credit.

At Snatr we measured the encryption. Without the key the file comes out as noise, with a similarity to the original of 10.6 dB. With the key it comes out intact at 59.9 dB, and the higher the number, the closer the picture is to the original.

The two platforms are alike in one thing: screen recording and a phone filming the screen are not prevented. The watermark deters, because the student's name or email shows. On iPhone, iPad and Safari, video on Snatr plays normally, but the protection is weaker against a technically skilled person.

The TKDS instructor guide says video hosted on your storage costs more than YouTube and protects better. On Snatr the protection covers uploaded video only, so a lesson that is a YouTube link is not encrypted. Learn more about video protection on Snatr.

Live classes, exams and certificates: TKDS or Snatr?

Both have live classes inside the platform without Zoom, with attendance recorded automatically, and self-grading exams. On Snatr, live classes are on the Pro plan. Both have completion certificates anyone can verify: TKDS with a verification code, and Snatr with a QR code.

In Snatr

  • Students watch from your platform, with chat and raised hands, and you can give a student the mic.
  • Attendance is recorded automatically: present or late.
  • Assistants can moderate the mics, the chat and who gets in.
  • Exams and homework grade themselves, and the grade shows to the student and the parent.
  • A printable completion certificate, with a QR code that opens a verification page on your site.

In ⁨TKDS⁩

  • Live classes on TKDS MEETING, on your own domain, with no Zoom license.
  • Attendance is recorded as soon as the student joins, and exports as a CSV file.
  • You upload the recording after the class, and it shows to the same students.
  • Multiple choice grades itself, you grade short answers and essays, and an exam has open and close times.
  • An automatic certificate when the student finishes the course, with a code anyone can check.

TKDS's pages do not say what a student can do inside a class, such as raising a hand or speaking on the mic. If that matters for your classes, ask them for a demo before you subscribe.

Recording a class on Snatr is a feature that is switched on, and when it is on, the recording is added to the students' group. Live classes on Snatr are not encrypted like uploaded video: they carry a watermark and a temporary link, and screen recording works.

If you sell professional courses and the student wants a certificate for their CV, both platforms issue certificates anyone can verify. If you teach a school curriculum, the grade the parent sees matters more than a certificate.

Run a tutoring center? Attendance, branches, parents and assistants on TKDS and Snatr

Snatr is built for the center: branches and groups with schedules, QR card attendance, and a parent who sees attendance and grades. TKDS has a parent account, staff roles and multiple teachers, but branches and an attendance card are not mentioned on its pages.

In Snatr

  • Branches and groups with their schedules and seats per group, plus classes and attendance registers.
  • Attendance by a printed QR card for each student, or manually. The code is signed and cannot be forged.
  • Parents see their child's attendance and grades from a portal on your site.
  • Accounts for assistants and front-desk staff, with 4 ready-made permission presets.
  • One teacher per platform, and no earnings split between teachers.

In ⁨TKDS⁩

  • A manual attendance register inside the live class page, for those present in the room.
  • Branches and groups with schedules and an attendance card are not mentioned, and "multiple branches" is only on the custom plan.
  • A read-only parent account, with the student's consent: courses, progress, grades and certificates.
  • Staff roles with permissions for each section, and permissions are checked on the server.
  • Unlimited teachers, each with an earnings share and withdrawal requests.

On Snatr, the assistant scans the student's card at the door, and the status is recorded as present or late. But a card can be photographed and sent to someone else, so this is card attendance, not a fingerprint.

The four assistant presets are front desk, branch supervisor, academic assistant and full access. If you remove a permission from an assistant, it is removed that same instant.

Multiple teachers on earnings shares are in TKDS, and not in Snatr. But if you are a teacher with groups across branches, Snatr covers your whole day without another program.

In short: Details on the Snatr center management page.

A platform in your name: domain, app and marketing on TKDS and Snatr

A custom domain is on all TKDS paid plans, and it has mobile and desktop apps in your name, and affiliate marketing. Snatr gives you a link in your name and 30 designs, a custom domain only on the Pro plan, and no app. Coupons are on both.

In Snatr

  • Your platform starts on a site in your name.
  • Custom domain on the Pro plan: the Snatr team buys and connects it, and the first year is free.
  • 30 ready-made designs whose colors, text and images you edit without code. The first two are free.
  • No mobile app in your name. Students open your platform in the phone's browser.
  • Discount coupons as a percentage or a fixed amount, but no affiliate marketing.

In ⁨TKDS⁩

  • Custom domain on all paid plans, and you add a DNS record yourself.
  • iOS and Android apps for students and teachers, plus a Windows and Mac app, on all paid plans.
  • The app can be published in your name, and on the free plan students use the TKDS app.
  • Coupons, course bundles, gifts, monthly subscriptions and affiliate marketing.
  • You choose the colors, the logo and the home page layout; the number of designs is not stated.

On TKDS, connecting a domain is one DNS record and about ten minutes until it works, according to their guide. On Snatr a custom domain is not available during the trial. Once it is connected, the old link redirects to it automatically and keeps your Google ranking.

On Snatr your platform opens in the browser of any phone, without the student installing anything. Browse the Snatr designs before you choose; every design has a full preview.

Arabic, support and moving your data on TKDS and Snatr

Both are Arabic right to left, and both offer support in Arabic. TKDS supports by email and tickets, aiming for a first reply within 24 hours, and helps you move your students. Snatr supports on WhatsApp and email.

In Snatr

  • The dashboard is Arabic right to left, and also available in English.
  • Your site can be Arabic, English or both.
  • Support in Arabic on WhatsApp and by email at support@snatr.com.
  • You register your existing students manually from the dashboard, with no fee.

In ⁨TKDS⁩

  • Arabic and English from the first line of code, and the admin can add a third language.
  • Support in Arabic and English, by email and tickets, with a first reply within 24 hours on working days.
  • The Cairo office is open Sunday to Thursday, 10 am to 6 pm, and WhatsApp is for quick questions.
  • Migration help included in every paid plan, and CSV export at any time.

Snatr does not advertise a migration service like TKDS does, so moving is in your own hands: you create your courses and upload your videos yourself.

How to move from TKDS to Snatr

  1. 1

Try Snatr before you cancel anything

Open your Snatr account and try it free for 7 days, and keep TKDS running until you are sure. Note that your Snatr site closes when the trial ends without a subscription.

  2. 2

Export your student data from TKDS

TKDS says students, orders and grades can be exported as CSV files from the admin dashboard at any time. Download them, so you know who paid for what.

  3. 3

Gather the original copies of your videos

Collect your original lesson files and PDF files on your computer, and upload the videos to Snatr so they are encrypted. If you have a free lesson on YouTube, add its link instead of uploading it.

  4. 4

Create your courses and price them in EGP

Create each course with its lessons and exams, and set its price in EGP. The online payment fee is added on top of your price for the student, so choose the price you want the student to see.

  5. 5

Enroll your current students without them paying again

A student who has already paid you can be enrolled manually in the course from the dashboard, with no fee. Then send them your new platform link on WhatsApp.

  6. 6

If you run a center, set up branches and cards

Create your branches and groups with their schedules, and print a QR card for each student. Open an account for each assistant with the permissions you choose, and send each parent their login details for their portal.

  7. 7

    Cancel TKDS before renewal

TKDS plans renew every year, and after the first 14 days there is no refund for the rest of the term. Cancel before renewal, and the service continues to the end of the term you paid for. If you have a custom domain on it, ask Snatr support before you cancel.

Snatr's limits, before you sign up

We list them up front so you decide knowing everything.

  • No app in your name: there is no mobile app in your name on Google Play or the App Store, and your platform runs in the phone's browser.
  • No installments: and no affiliate marketing or email marketing messages.
  • One teacher per platform: there are no multiple teachers with split earnings.
  • No permanent free plan: there is a 7-day trial, then a subscription from 999 EGP a month.

  • Screen recording is not prevented: nor is a phone filming the screen. The watermark puts the student's name on the recording, which deters, but it is not proof.

  • No messages to parents: no WhatsApp or SMS messages are sent automatically. Parents follow along from their portal on your site.
  • Plan changes go through support: you do not change your plan yourself from the dashboard.
  • Very large academies: the largest published Snatr plan is 400 students, after which you pay per extra student or agree a custom plan.
