What is Ostazy, and who is it for?

Ostazy is a platform that gives a teacher a space in their name to sell courses, and its official site is ostazy.online. The site does not name a company or a country, but its course prices are in Egyptian pounds. It says it "enables teachers to create their own teaching platform under their personal brand". Students come in, look for their teacher and subscribe to their courses.

A teacher signs up with a name, email and password, with the phone number optional. You choose your platform's name and link and start straight away; the site says "no approval and no waiting".

Ostazy's strength is simplicity. No monthly subscription is mentioned, and it takes a share of each sale. There is no storage cost, because videos play from your YouTube channel. It also has subscription codes for center students, discounts, free preview lessons, and a course catalog that students browse.

Ostazy is still early: card payment is not available yet, and the platform's share is not published on the site. The site does not mention live classes, parent follow-up or assistants. That is why the table says "Not stated", not "not available".

Snatr at snatr.com gives you a platform and a website in your name, built for teachers and tutoring centers in Egypt. Students pay online in EGP, video is uploaded and encrypted, and live classes, the center and parents sit in one account. If you are comparing other platforms, see every Snatr comparison.

How much does Ostazy cost? And how much of your price reaches you on Ostazy and on Snatr?

Ostazy does not mention a monthly subscription and takes a share of each sale that is not published on its site. Snatr is a flat subscription from 999 EGP a month, and your price reaches you in full.

In Snatr

  • Starter: 999 EGP a month, 100 students, 50 GB.
  • Basic: 1,999 EGP, 200 students, 150 GB.
  • Pro: 2,999 EGP, 400 students, 300 GB, plus live classes and a custom domain.
  • Extra students are charged once, and center-only students do not count toward the plan.
  • The platform fee on online payments is added on top of your price for the student.

In ⁨Ostazy⁩

  • The platform takes a share of every sale.
  • The share shows on each order and is not published on the site.
  • They say there are "no hidden fees at all".
  • The rest is added to your balance once the platform confirms the payment arrived.
  • No storage cost, because the video is on your YouTube channel.

Example: a teacher with 100 students paying 300 EGP a month

On Snatr you know your figure from the start: 29,001 EGP, with online payment and encrypted video included

Snatr (Starter)Ostazy

Your monthly sales30,000 EGP30,000 EGP

Platform subscription999 EGPNot stated
How the student paysCard, Fawry and wallets, onlineTransfer and a receipt photo
What reaches you each month29,001 EGP30,000 EGP minus Ostazy's share

Ostazy's details are from the FAQ on its website on 16 October 2026, and the percentage is not written there. On Snatr the student pays the platform fee on top of the 300 EGP, so if you want them to pay exactly 300, set your price a little lower.

To compare properly, ask Ostazy for the percentage as a number before you start. With 100 students paying 300 EGP, Snatr's Starter subscription is 999 EGP, and the commission is on the student, on top of your price. It comes with card and Fawry payments, encrypted video, the center and parents.

On Snatr the student pays the platform fee on top of your price, so if your price is 300 EGP the student pays a little more. On Ostazy the student transfers 300, and the share is deducted from you.

If you run live classes, price it on the Snatr Pro plan, at 2,999 EGP a month. See Snatr's prices in detail.

In short: Before you choose, ask Ostazy for the percentage as a number, and work out what will actually reach you. Next to it, put the time spent checking receipts, and the things you will need, such as live classes, the center and parents.

Does Ostazy accept payment in EGP, Fawry and mobile wallets?

Ostazy accepts transfers to a wallet or InstaPay; the student uploads a receipt photo and platform staff review it. Card payment is not available yet, and Fawry is not mentioned. On Snatr students pay online by card, Fawry and wallets.

In Snatr

  • Students pay in EGP by card, Visa and Mastercard.
  • Fawry: the student gets a code and pays it at any Fawry outlet within 24 hours.
  • Mobile wallets such as Vodafone Cash, and the course opens automatically.
  • You withdraw to Vodafone Cash, InstaPay or your bank account.
  • A student paid you cash? Enroll them by hand, or give them a top-up card.

In ⁨Ostazy⁩

  • The student transfers to a wallet or InstaPay.
  • They upload the transaction number and a receipt photo.
  • Platform staff confirm the transfer arrived, then the course opens.
  • Visa payment is not available yet; it will come once a gateway is connected.
  • Withdrawals: you request an amount and pick a wallet or account, and staff transfer it.

The difference here is time. On Ostazy the student waits until someone reviews the receipt. On Snatr the course opens as soon as the payment gateway confirms payment, even if the student pays at night.

On Snatr money goes into your wallet and becomes available to withdraw after a safety period of currently 7 days. The minimum withdrawal is currently 100 EGP. On Ostazy, ask before you start: how long does the transfer take after you request a withdrawal?

Both have codes that unlock a course without online payment. Snatr also has cards you print and sell for cash; a code either unlocks a course or group, or adds credit to the student's balance on your site.

In short: With every new student, online payment on Snatr saves them waiting for a receipt check. The course opens for them as soon as they pay, even at night.

Ostazy plays video from YouTube: does that affect protection?

Yes. Ostazy plays video from a link to your YouTube channel, and its site does not mention encryption or a watermark. Snatr allows both: uploaded, encrypted video or a YouTube link, and protection covers uploaded video only.

In Snatr

  • Uploaded video is encrypted, and its key goes to the browser's decryption module.
  • Downloader extensions, "paste the link" sites and yt-dlp cannot download it.
  • A watermark with the student's name moves across the video.
  • A student can be signed in on only one device at a time.
  • Screen recording is not blocked; the watermark only deters it.

In ⁨Ostazy⁩

  • You upload the video to your YouTube channel and paste the link.
  • The video plays inside the lesson page, and the student does not leave it.
  • No storage limit and no extra cost for you.
  • Encryption, a watermark and device limits are not mentioned.

YouTube's advantage is that it is free and unlimited. Its drawback is that the video's protection is YouTube's own. Snatr itself allows YouTube links, and says plainly that encryption covers uploaded video only.

The measurement on Snatr: without the key the file comes out as noise, only 10.6 dB similar to the original. With the key it comes out intact at 59.9 dB, and the higher the number, the closer the picture is to the original.

On iPhone and iPad, video on Snatr plays normally, and ready-made download tools fail there too. But protection there is a little weaker against a technically skilled person. Learn how Snatr protects video.

Does Ostazy have live classes and exams?

Ostazy mentions exams, quizzes, grades and a section called "Sessions", without saying there are live classes. Snatr has live classes on the Pro plan, exams with a server-side timer, and completion certificates.

In Snatr

  • Live classes on your platform with no Zoom, with chat, raised hands and a mic for students.
  • Live attendance is recorded automatically: present or late.
  • Exams are graded automatically, and the exam timer runs on the server.
  • A printable course completion certificate with a QR code that opens a verification page.

In ⁨Ostazy⁩

  • Exams and quizzes, and students see their result straight away.
  • A "Student grades" section and a "Sessions" section on the teacher's page.
  • Students mark a lesson when they finish it, and their progress updates.
  • Live classes and certificates are not mentioned.

Snatr's exam timer runs on the server, not on the phone. So if the student closes the page or changes the clock, the time does not stop.

If you teach live classes, ask Ostazy what exactly the "Sessions" section contains. If there is no live streaming, you will need another tool such as Zoom. On Snatr, live streams are not encrypted like uploaded video: they carry a watermark and a temporary link, and screen recording works.

I run a tutoring center: Ostazy or Snatr for attendance, parents and assistants?

Snatr is built for the center: branches and groups, QR card attendance, a parent portal and assistants with permissions. Ostazy mentions recording attendance and codes for center students, and does not mention branches, parents or assistants.

In Snatr

  • Branches and groups with schedules and seat limits, and a register for every session.
  • Attendance with a printed QR card for every student, or by hand.
  • A parent portal on your site showing the child's attendance and grades.
  • Assistants with their own accounts, and you choose which screens each one sees.

In ⁨Ostazy⁩

  • "Record attendance and follow it easily", without saying how.
  • Free subscription codes for the students you teach offline.
  • Announcements to your students on your page.
  • Branches, parents and assistants are not mentioned.

Snatr's QR card carries a signed code that cannot be forged, and the assistant scans it at the door. But the card can be photographed and sent to someone else, so this is card attendance, not a fingerprint.

If you remove a permission from an assistant, it is removed instantly. The center and the online courses share one account. See center management in Snatr.

Really a platform in your name? A page on Ostazy or a site on Snatr

Ostazy gives you a page in your name on its site, and your courses also appear in a catalog of all teachers. Snatr gives you a full website in your name with your own design, with no marketplace that brings students.

In Snatr

  • A full site in your name, with 30 designs you edit without code.
  • A custom domain like mybrand.com on Pro; the Snatr team buys and connects it.
  • Every site has its own sitemap so Google can find your courses.
  • You choose the sign-up fields: governorate, stage, ID card photo and parent phone.
  • No app in your name; students open your platform in the phone's browser.

In ⁨Ostazy⁩

  • A page in your name at ostazy.online/t/yourname.
  • Each course has a page at ostazy.online/c/yourname/course.
  • Your courses appear on the "Explore courses" page with other teachers.
  • A custom domain, designs and an app are not mentioned.

A shared catalog might bring you a student who did not know you, and Snatr has nothing like that: marketing is up to you. But a student on your page may also see other teachers of the same subject.

On Snatr students sign up on your own site, with their phone or email, and with the fields you ask for. Browse Snatr's designs.

How do you start with Ostazy and with Snatr, and how does support work?

On Ostazy you sign up and start straight away with no approval. On Snatr you get a free 7-day trial with no card, and support is in Arabic on WhatsApp and email.

In Snatr

  • A free 7-day trial; your site closes when it ends without a subscription.
  • Support in Arabic on WhatsApp and email, around the clock.
  • The dashboard is in right-to-left Arabic, with English too.
  • Plan changes go through support, not the dashboard.

In ⁨Ostazy⁩

  • Sign-up with a name, email and password; the phone number is optional.
  • "No approval and no waiting".
  • A smart assistant on the site answers questions about the platform.
  • The contact channel shown on the home page is a Facebook page.

Before you choose, try both yourself. Open an account, upload a lesson, and buy the course as if you were a student. Then ask each platform the same questions: what is the rate, when does the money reach me, and where are live classes?

How to move from Ostazy to Snatr

  1. 1

Try Snatr before you stop anything

  4. 4

Enroll your students and withdraw your balance

Enroll each student who already subscribed with you by hand, with no commission, and send them your new platform link. Withdraw your Ostazy balance before you stop your courses there.

Snatr's limits, before you sign up

We list them up front so you decide knowing everything.

  • A fixed subscription even if you sell little: the first plan is 999 EGP a month, even in a month when your sales are low.
  • Storage depends on the plan: 50 GB on Starter up to 300 GB on Pro, and extra storage is charged to you. YouTube links instead of uploads use no storage, but they are not encrypted.
  • No marketplace that brings students: Snatr does not show your courses to new students; marketing is up to you.
  • No app in your name: your platform runs in the phone and computer browser.
  • Screen recording is not blocked: nor is a phone filming the screen. The watermark carries the student's name, which deters, but it is not proof of who recorded.
  • Live classes and a custom domain are on Pro only: at 2,999 EGP a month.
  • No messages to parents: no WhatsApp or SMS is sent automatically. Parents follow along from their portal on your site.
  • Plan changes go through support: you cannot change your plan yourself from the dashboard.

Can I upload video to Ostazy?
