What is Taalemy (taalemy.com), and who is it for?

Taalemy is a platform that gives independent teachers and academies a teaching website in their own name. Its official site is taalemy.com, and its Arabic name also reads "Taalemy". It describes itself as "a multi-tenant SaaS platform for building and running academies in the Arab region". You pay a subscription and get a ready site and dashboard.

Taalemy is not Ta3leemy. Another platform has the same Arabic name, at ta3leemy.online, with EGP prices and top-up cards. This comparison is about taalemy.com only. If you are looking for the other one, see Snatr vs Ta3leemy.

Taalemy has three clear strengths. A full site you design yourself in a visual editor, with a custom domain from the Professional plan. Clear protection for video and PDF files, with a page that says honestly what protection cannot do. And a page that says plainly what it does not include yet.

What Taalemy itself says is "in development": an online payment gateway, live classes inside the platform, and AI tools. So today the student transfers money to you directly, and live sessions run on Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams.

Snatr at snatr.com gives you a platform and a website in your name, built for teachers and tutoring centers in Egypt. Students pay online in EGP, and live classes, the center and parents sit in one account. If you are comparing other platforms, see every Snatr comparison.

How much is Taalemy, and which costs less for a teacher in Egypt: Taalemy or Snatr?

Snatr costs less per student on every plan. Its first plan is 999 EGP for 100 students, while 100 students on Taalemy need the Professional plan, priced at 2,900 EGP a month for visitors from Egypt as a "special offer".

In Snatr

  • Starter: 999 EGP a month, 100 students, 50 GB.
  • Basic: 1,999 EGP, 200 students, 150 GB.
  • Pro: 2,999 EGP, 400 students, 300 GB, plus live classes and a custom domain.
  • Extra students are charged once, and center-only students do not count toward the plan.
  • The platform fee on online payments is added on top of your price for the student.

In ⁨Taalemy⁩

  • Starter: 1,200 EGP a month, 20 students, 20 GB, 8,000 watch minutes.
  • Professional: 2,900 EGP, 100 students, 60 GB, 40,000 watch minutes.
  • Academy: 5,999 EGP, 250 students, 250 GB, 100,000 watch minutes.
  • These are the "special offer" prices for visitors from Egypt; the regular prices are $39, $79 and $149.
  • No commission, a 15-day trial, and a discount for quarterly and yearly billing.

Taalemy's price is from its pricing page on 16 October 2026, as shown to a visitor from Egypt as a "special offer", billed monthly. Its Starter plan has only 20 students, so with 100 students the matching plan is Professional. On Taalemy live sessions run on Zoom, and the student transfers to you and you approve each order by hand. On Snatr the student pays the platform fee on top of the 300 EGP.

Taalemy measures usage in watch minutes, not data volume. With 100 students on Professional, 40,000 minutes come to 400 minutes per student a month, about 6 hours and 40 minutes. What happens when the minutes run out is not written on the pricing page, so ask them.

These EGP prices show for visitors from Egypt, marked "special offer" next to the regular dollar price. Their Egypt page says "current prices and temporary offers always appear on the pricing page", so the price can change. Their terms say the subscription is paid "through manual billing channels or payment providers announced at the time of payment".

If you run live classes, price it on the Snatr Pro plan, at 2,999 EGP a month. It covers 400 students instead of the 100 on Taalemy's Professional plan, and 300 GB instead of 60. Live classes run inside your platform instead of on Zoom, and students pay online with the course opening automatically. Taalemy's EGP price is shown as a "special offer" next to the regular dollar price, so it can change. See Snatr's prices in detail.

In short: Compare on your number of students. Taalemy's plans run from 20 to 250 students and Snatr's from 100 to 400, and for the same number of students Snatr costs less on every plan.

Does Taalemy accept payment in EGP, Fawry and mobile wallets?

Not online yet. Taalemy shows students your own payment methods, such as bank transfer, Vodafone Cash and InstaPay; the student transfers to you and you approve the request. On Snatr students pay online by card, Fawry and wallets.

In Snatr

  • Students pay in EGP by card, Visa and Mastercard.
  • Fawry: the student gets a code and pays it at any Fawry outlet within 24 hours.
  • Mobile wallets such as Vodafone Cash, and the course opens automatically.
  • You withdraw to Vodafone Cash, InstaPay or your bank account.
  • A student paid you cash? Enroll them by hand, or give them a top-up card.

In ⁨Taalemy⁩

  • It shows your payment methods: bank transfer, Vodafone Cash or InstaPay.
  • The student transfers, uploads a photo of the receipt, and you approve the request.
  • Amounts you approve are recorded on the revenue page, with each student's balance due.
  • The online payment gateway is "in development".
  • The terms say the platform does not collect money from students.

With this approach you review every transfer and receipt photo yourself, and open the course by hand, even if the student transfers at night. The money reaches you straight away, but every new student means another receipt to check.

On Snatr money goes into your wallet and becomes available to withdraw after a safety period of currently 7 days. The minimum withdrawal is currently 100 EGP. The course opens for the student as soon as the payment gateway confirms payment, even if they pay at night. A student outside Egypt can pay by card, charged in EGP.

On Snatr you can also print top-up cards and sell them for cash. A code either unlocks a course or group, or adds credit to the student's balance on your site.

In short: With every new student, online payment on Snatr saves you checking a receipt and opening a course by hand. The more students you have, the bigger that difference gets.

Video protection on Taalemy and Snatr: temporary links or measured encryption?

Both add a student watermark, and both say plainly that screen recording is not blocked. Snatr encrypts video and has published a measurement of that encryption. Taalemy uses temporary playback links and encrypted streaming, with no published measurement.

In Snatr

  • Uploaded video is encrypted, and its key goes to the browser's decryption module.
  • Downloader extensions, "paste the link" sites and yt-dlp cannot download it.
  • A watermark with the student's name moves across the video.
  • A student can be signed in on only one device at a time.
  • Screen recording is not blocked; the watermark only deters it.

In ⁨Taalemy⁩

  • The playback link is signed and temporary, 20 minutes by default.
  • Watermark: the student's short name and a 6-character code, plus a clearer mark every 5 to 10 minutes.
  • From Professional, PDF files are shown with no download or print, with a watermark.
  • Every viewing session is logged, so you can trace the source of a leak.
  • It says no web platform can block screen recording.

The measurement on Snatr: without the key the file comes out as noise, only 10.6 dB similar to the original. With the key it comes out intact at 59.9 dB, and the higher the number, the closer the picture is to the original.

PDF protection is a clear strength of Taalemy, described in detail on its site. Its protection page is also frank about its limits, which counts in its favor. On Snatr, a lesson file you upload now opens only for an enrolled student, through a link that lives two minutes, but once it is open the student can save it.

On iPhone and iPad, video on Snatr plays normally, and ready-made download tools fail there too. But protection there is a little weaker against a technically skilled person. Learn how Snatr protects video.

Live classes on Taalemy run through Zoom: how is that different from live classes inside Snatr?

Taalemy schedules your sessions on Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams, with notifications and automatic attendance, and built-in live is "in development". Snatr has live classes inside your platform on the Pro plan.

In Snatr

  • Live classes on your platform with no Zoom, with chat, raised hands and a mic for students.
  • Assistants can moderate mics, chat and who gets in.
  • Live attendance is recorded automatically: present or late.
  • Exams are graded automatically, and the exam timer runs on the server.

In ⁨Taalemy⁩

  • Sessions on Zoom, Meet or Teams, from the Professional plan.
  • Student notifications, entry from the student dashboard, and automatic attendance.
  • Multiple choice, true or false and essay questions, importing up to 200 from Excel.
  • Lessons unlock in order after a watch percentage or a passed quiz.
  • Automatic completion certificates from Professional.

The difference is where it happens. On Taalemy the student leaves your site for another program, and you need a Zoom or Meet account. On Snatr the class is on your platform, and the student installs nothing. Live streams are not encrypted like uploaded video: they carry a watermark and a temporary link, and screen recording works.

Snatr's exam timer runs on the server, not on the phone. So if the student closes the page or changes the clock, the time does not stop. Snatr's certificate is printable with a QR code, and anyone can check it on a verification page.

I run a tutoring center: Taalemy or Snatr for attendance, parents and assistants?

Taalemy has attendance with a rotating QR code and assistants with permissions, is built for academies and training centers, and has no parent portal. Snatr adds branches and groups with schedules, and a parent portal.

In Snatr

  • Branches and groups with schedules and seat limits, and a register for every session.
  • Attendance with a printed QR card for every student, or by hand.
  • A parent portal on your site showing the child's attendance and grades.
  • Assistants with their own accounts, and 4 ready-made permission templates.

In ⁨Taalemy⁩

  • Attendance with a QR code that changes every few seconds, scanned on the student's phone, from Professional.
  • One assistant on Starter, 3 on Professional, 5 on Academy, and 20 on Custom.
  • A CRM for following up leads, on the Academy plan.
  • A parent's number on the student's account, with no portal and no SMS.

Snatr's QR card carries a signed code that cannot be forged, and the assistant scans it at the door, so the student needs no phone. But the card can be photographed and sent to someone else, so this is card attendance, not a fingerprint. On Taalemy the code changes on screen and the student scans it with their own phone, so every student needs a phone with them.

If you remove a permission from an assistant on Snatr, it is removed instantly. See center management in Snatr.

A site in your name and a custom domain: Taalemy or Snatr?

Both give you a full website in your name. Snatr has 30 ready designs, and on Pro the Snatr team buys and connects your domain, with the first year free. On Taalemy the domain comes from the Professional plan, and you buy it and connect it with a DNS record yourself.

In Snatr

  • A site in your name, with 30 designs you edit without code.
  • A custom domain on Pro; the Snatr team buys and connects it, and the first year is free.
  • Every site has its own sitemap so Google can find your courses.
  • You choose the sign-up fields: governorate, stage, ID card photo and parent phone.
  • No app in your name, and no several teachers with split earnings.

In ⁨Taalemy⁩

  • A free subdomain like yourname.taalemy.com.
  • A custom domain and SSL from Professional; you add the DNS record yourself.
  • A visual editor with 22 templates, and a 10-page site with SEO from Professional.
  • Removing their logo and business email on Academy.
  • A mobile app and several teachers on the Custom plan only.

On Taalemy you connect the domain yourself, which means you buy and renew it. On Snatr the Snatr team buys and connects it, and your old link redirects to it automatically along with your Google ranking.

Browse Snatr's designs and pick the look of your site; the first two designs are free.

In Snatr

  • A free 7-day trial; your site closes when it ends without a subscription.
  • Support in Arabic on WhatsApp and email, around the clock.
  • The dashboard is in right-to-left Arabic, with English too.
  • Plan changes go through support, not the dashboard.

  • A 15-day trial with every feature, no credit card.
  • A full refund within 30 days, "no questions asked".
  • Support by email, and a WhatsApp link on the home page.

Snatr's limits, before you sign up

We list them up front so you decide knowing everything.

  • No app in your name: your platform runs in the phone and computer browser.
  • No several teachers with split earnings: each platform on Snatr is for one teacher.
  • PDF files can be saved once opened: a lesson file you upload now opens only for an enrolled student, through a link that lives two minutes. But once it is open the student can save or print it, and there is no watermark on the file.
  • Screen recording is not blocked: nor is a phone filming the screen. The watermark carries the student's name, which deters, but it is not proof of who recorded.
  • Live classes and a custom domain are on Pro only: at 2,999 EGP a month.
  • Money does not reach you the same day: it becomes available to withdraw after a safety period of currently 7 days.
  • The trial is 7 days: with no payment and no card, and your site closes when it ends without a subscription.
  • Plan changes go through support: you cannot change your plan yourself from the dashboard.

Frequently asked questions

Snatr or Taalemy: which is better for a teacher in Egypt?

Snatr is better for a teacher or a center in Egypt. The subscription is in EGP from 999 EGP for 100 students, students pay online by card and Fawry, and the course opens automatically. Live classes run inside your platform, and it has QR card attendance and a parent portal. On Taalemy the same 100 students need the Professional plan at 2,900 EGP for visitors from Egypt, the student transfers to you and you check the receipt, and live sessions run on Zoom or Meet.

Taalemy or Ta3leemy: are they the same platform?

No. Taalemy is at taalemy.com and shows visitors from Egypt prices from 1,200 EGP for 20 students. Ta3leemy is at ta3leemy.online with prices from 299 EGP and top-up cards. Both have the same Arabic name, and Taalemy's "about" page says it is not affiliated with sites that have similar names.

How much does Taalemy cost?

On 16 October 2026, for a visitor from Egypt: Starter is 1,200 EGP a month for 20 students, Professional is 2,900 EGP for 100 students, Academy is 5,999 EGP for 250 students, and Custom is by agreement. These are shown as a "special offer", and the regular prices are $39, $79 and $149. There is a discount for quarterly and yearly billing, and no commission on your sales.

Does Taalemy take a commission on my sales?

No. Taalemy says "no commission on your sales", because it does not collect students' payments at all: the student transfers to you. On Snatr nothing is deducted from your price either, and the online payment fee is added on top of your price for the student.

Does Taalemy have a free trial? Does Snatr?

Taalemy has a 15-day trial with every feature and no credit card, plus a 30-day money-back guarantee after you pay. Snatr has a 7-day trial with no card, and your site closes when it ends without a subscription.

Does Taalemy have a mobile app?

Not on the standard plans. Taalemy says a student app is "available as a custom service on request", on the Custom plan. Snatr has no app in your name, and students open your platform in the phone's browser.

What does Taalemy have that Snatr does not?

PDF protection against downloading and printing, an attendance code that changes on screen, and several teachers on one platform on the Custom plan. Also a CRM for leads, ready WhatsApp messages for students, a 15-day trial and a 30-day money-back guarantee. In return, Snatr has online payment with the course opening automatically, live classes inside your platform, and a parent portal, and Taalemy does not have these today.

Can I use Taalemy and Snatr together?

Yes, but you will pay two subscriptions, and Snatr alone covers online teaching, live classes, the center and parents. Students abroad can pay on Snatr by international card in EGP.
