Teachable vs Thinkific: what is the difference, and which suits someone who teaches in Arabic?
Teachable and Thinkific are two foreign platforms that build you a site to sell courses online. Both charge a monthly subscription in dollars. Teachable's dashboard is in English, and Arabic is not one of Thinkific's site languages. They take care of video hosting and the checkout page for you.
Teachable is cheaper to start: its lowest plan is $39, but it takes 7.5% of every sale. Its student pages can be in Arabic, and it gives you 1 TB of video storage on every plan. According to its website, more than 150,000 experts and businesses use it.
Thinkific's lowest plan is $54, with no commission on its own gateway. Courses are unlimited, and a custom domain is included on every plan. Certificates and Zoom lessons start from the Start plan at $109. According to its website, it has tens of thousands of customers in more than 100 countries.
For an Arabic-speaking teacher, the difference comes down to two points. Teachable is better for Arabic, because Arabic is not among Thinkific's site languages at all. Thinkific is better for getting paid from Egypt, because it accepts PayPal on its own from the Grow plan. Teachable requires a Stripe account. So neither one wins on both points.
Neither has payment by Fawry or mobile wallets, live classes without Zoom, attendance for a tutoring center, or a parent portal. Snatr was built for these things from the start, for the teacher who teaches in Egypt. The details of each platform on its own are in Snatr vs Teachable and Snatr vs Thinkific, and all the comparisons are on the Snatr comparisons page.
