Snatr vs Web Academy: a comparison for teachers and tutoring centers in Egypt (2026)

If you are a teacher or run a center in Egypt, Snatr is the better choice. It starts at 999 EGP a month with no upfront sum, and hosting, updates and the payment gateway are in the subscription. Students pay by Fawry, wallets or card, and you get QR card attendance and a parent portal. Web Academy is an Arabic platform sold as a one-time licence from 25,000 EGP, with hosting and updates paid separately.

What is Web Academy, and who is it for?

Web Academy is an Arabic learning platform that sells a "license": you pay for the platform once and it becomes yours, instead of a monthly subscription. Its website is webacademy.me, and it describes itself as the "educational infrastructure" for digital academies in Egypt and the Gulf.

The license gives you a platform in your name on your own domain, with a website, courses, live classes, exams, certificates, online payment and video protection. It has 4 dashboards: for the admin, the instructor, the student and the app. The platform stays yours, and your student data can be exported at any time, according to their website.

Web Academy says it is built for a teacher with an audience, a tutoring center moving online, or a training company. Its prices in October 2026: Launch 25,000 EGP, Growth 35,000 EGP, and Enterprise from 50,000 EGP, all paid once. Its WhatsApp number is Egyptian.

It also has a blog with about 50 practical articles for academy owners, including comparisons with Moodle and Teachable, and a calculator that tells you how many days the license takes to pay for itself. That is useful work even if you will not buy from them. One of the clearest parts is a section that says frankly when the platform is not right for you.

Snatr at snatr.com solves the same problem differently: a monthly subscription in EGP, with everything technical handled by Snatr, plus center management, attendance and parents. If you are also considering Moodle, see Snatr vs Moodle, or all Snatr comparisons.

Web Academy or Snatr: a subscription or a one-time license?

On Snatr you start at 999 EGP a month, with hosting, updates and the payment gateway included. A Web Academy licence starts at 25,000 EGP once, with hosting every year and updates after 6 months on top. The first year on Snatr is 11,988 EGP, and on Web Academy from 27,000.

In Snatr

  • You pay 999 EGP a month for 100 students, with no upfront sum.
  • Basic is 1,999 EGP for 200 students, and Pro is 2,999 EGP for 400 students with live classes.
  • Hosting, video storage, updates and the payment gateway are all included in the subscription.
  • If your students exceed the plan, registration does not stop, and each extra student is charged separately.
  • If you stop the subscription, your platform closes until you pay.

In ⁨Web Academy⁩

  • Launch is 25,000 EGP once: two teachers and 5 admins.
  • Growth is 35,000 EGP: unlimited teachers, full encryption, and installments of 5,000 EGP over 7 months.
  • Enterprise from 50,000 EGP, including an app in your name on the stores.
  • No percentage of your sales, and the platform stays yours once you pay.
  • On top of the license: hosting at about 2,000 to 2,500 EGP a year, and optional updates after 6 months.

Example: a teacher with 100 students, first year and 3 years

In the first year, Snatr saves you about 15,000 EGP compared with the cheapest Web Academy plan

Web Academy figures are from their pricing page on 7 October 2026, and hosting is their own estimate. Updates are counted over 30 months after the first 6 free months, which is 10,000 EGP over 3 years. Video protection is as written for each plan on their pricing page. Not counted: the payment gateway fees deducted from you on Web Academy, and the Snatr fee the student pays on top of your price.

400 students107,964 EGP (Pro)41,000 to 52,500 EGP, if the hosting is enough

Web Academy itself says in its cost article that a subscription comes out lower over a single year. That is why the calculation here covers one year and 3 years, using the figures on their pricing page on 7 October 2026.

With 100 students over 3 years, Snatr is 35,964 EGP, including hosting, updates and encryption of every video. Web Academy's Launch is from 31,000 EGP without updates, and from 41,000 with them. Growth, the plan with full encryption, is 41,000 to 52,500 EGP.

With 200 or 400 students, Web Academy's figure in the table does not include the payment gateway fees taken from you, or any increase in hosting if you have many students. The pricing page does not say how many students the estimate covers. In the table, the lowest figure has no updates and the lowest hosting estimate, and the highest has updates and the highest estimate. On Snatr the figure includes hosting and updates, and the payment commission is on the student.

There is something the calculation does not measure: you pay 25,000 or 35,000 EGP before you know whether your students will buy. Web Academy itself advises not buying a system before you have sold 10 copies of your course. And it says a monthly subscription is lighter on cash flow, even if it costs more in total.

In short: If you are a teacher or a center, start with the subscription: there is no upfront sum, and hosting, updates and payments are in the price. If you are pricing the licence, add the hosting and gateway fees you will actually pay. See Snatr's prices in detail.

What is not included in the Web Academy license?

According to Web Academy's website, the license does not include hosting and the domain, or updates after the first 6 months. Payment gateway fees are on you. Technical support is included, and free for life on every plan.

In Snatr

  • Hosting and video storage from 50 to 300 GB are included in the subscription, depending on the plan.
  • Updates and new features reach you automatically, with no extra fees.
  • The payment gateway is ready, and its fees are not on you.
  • Support in Arabic on WhatsApp and email, included in the subscription.
  • You do not need anyone to set anything up for you: you open your account and start.

In ⁨Web Academy⁩

  • You pay the host directly for hosting and the domain: about 2,000 to 2,500 EGP a year.
  • Updates are free for 6 months, then 4,000 EGP a year, and the platform works without them.
  • Payment gateways are activated with accounts in your name, and their fees are on you.
  • Custom development is priced separately, and an app in your name is on Enterprise only.
  • Technical support is free for life, along with platform setup and training for you in the first 30 days.

The pricing page describes Launch as "the equivalent of 700 EGP a month over 3 years". That figure is the license alone, and hosting and updates are clearly written below it on the same page.

Their pages differ on hosting. Their comparison with Moodle says it is "included in the setup", while the pricing page says it is separate and paid to the host. This page follows the pricing page. So ask them before you pay: how many hours of video and how many students does that estimate cover?

The things Web Academy says are included in the price: lifetime technical support, setting up your platform in days, training you and your team in the first 30 days, and regular backups.

Does Web Academy accept payment in EGP, Fawry and mobile wallets?

Yes. Web Academy connects more than 12 payment gateways, including Fawry, Vodafone Cash, InstaPay, cards and installments. But those gateways are activated with accounts in your name and your documents. On Snatr you do not need an account with any payment company.

In Snatr

  • The student pays in EGP by card, Visa and Mastercard.
  • Fawry: the student gets a code and pays it at any Fawry outlet within 24 hours.
  • Or pays from a mobile wallet (such as Vodafone Cash).
  • The money goes into your wallet, and you withdraw it to Vodafone Cash, InstaPay or the bank.
  • Your price reaches you in full, and the Snatr fee is added on top of your price for the student.

In ⁨Web Academy⁩

  • It connects Fawry, Vodafone Cash, InstaPay and cards, plus Paymob, PayTabs, Stripe and PayPal.
  • It has Gulf gateways such as Tap, MyFatoorah and HyperPay, and pricing in the student's local currency.
  • It has installments and bank transfer, and selling by subscriptions, coupons and gift cards.
  • Activating gateways takes days, depending on your documents and the gateway's approval.
  • The money goes directly into your own accounts, and gateway fees are deducted from you.

Web Academy's 7-day launch plan puts payment activation on day two. The reason, in their words, is that a payment gateway needs documents and approvals that take days, and the timing is not in your hands.

That is not a flaw in Web Academy; it is how gateways work. The upside is that money reaches you from the gateway directly. On Snatr, money becomes available to withdraw after a safety period that is currently 7 days, and the minimum withdrawal is currently 100 EGP.

On Snatr, a student who paid you cash at the center is enrolled manually in the course, with no fee at all. Snatr has no installments for students, and Web Academy does.

Video protection on Web Academy and Snatr: which one stops downloading?

Both encrypt video and add a watermark with the student's name. On Snatr this happens for every video you upload, and the protection is measured. On Web Academy, full encryption and download blocking are listed on the Growth plan.

In Snatr

  • Video is encrypted, and its key goes to the decryption module in the browser, not to the page.
  • Download extensions, "paste the link and download" sites and yt-dlp cannot save it.
  • A watermark moves across the video and shows the student's name.
  • A student is signed in on one device at a time: signing in on a new device signs the old one out.

In ⁨Web Academy⁩

  • It encrypts video, and viewing links expire within seconds.
  • It adds a watermark with the student's identity and session to every view.
  • It sets device and session limits, and restricts viewing by country.
  • It proctors exams: it verifies identity and detects window switching.
  • No published measurement of the protection.

The measurement on Snatr: without the key the file comes out as noise, with a similarity to the original of only 10.6 dB. With the key it comes out intact at 59.9 dB, and the higher the number, the closer the picture is to the original.

Both platforms are honest on one important point: screen recording is not prevented, nor is a phone filming the screen. Web Academy says so plainly in its protection article. The watermark on both platforms deters, because the student's name shows on the recording.

On iPhone and iPad, video on Snatr plays normally, and ready-made download tools fail on them too. But the protection there is somewhat weaker against a technically skilled person. This protection covers the video you upload; a YouTube link in a lesson stays an ordinary YouTube video. Learn more about video protection on Snatr.

Web Academy has something Snatr does not: the student can download a lesson encrypted inside the app and watch it offline. But that app in your name is on the Enterprise plan.

Live classes, exams and certificates: who has what?

Both platforms have live classes inside the platform, self-grading exams and certificates with a verification code, and on Snatr live classes are on the Pro plan. Web Academy also has a question bank and AI tools, which Snatr does not have, but on Snatr the grade reaches the parent.

In Snatr

  • Live classes from your platform, with chat and raised hands, and you can give a student the mic.
  • Assistants moderate the mics, the chat and who enters the class.
  • Class attendance is recorded automatically: present or late.
  • Exams and homework grade themselves, and the grade shows to the student and the parent.
  • A completion certificate with a QR check, but no question bank and no AI tools.

In ⁨Web Academy⁩

  • Scheduled live classes inside the platform, with student attendance recorded automatically.
  • The class recording becomes a protected lesson as soon as the stream ends.
  • It has a question bank with different versions, random question order, and rubric-based essay grading.
  • It has certificates with a verification number and QR, and points and badges for students.
  • It has an AI studio, and an AI tutor that answers students around the clock.

Recording a class on Snatr is a feature that is switched on, and when it is on, the recording is added to the students' group. Live classes are not encrypted like uploaded video: they carry a watermark and a temporary link, and screen recording works.

Web Academy's pages do not say whether a student can speak on the mic or raise a hand during a live class. And the full AI studio is listed on the Growth plan.

If you sell professional courses and the student wants a certificate for their CV, both platforms issue certificates anyone can verify. If you teach a school curriculum, the grade the parent sees matters more than a certificate.

I run a tutoring center: does Web Academy handle attendance, branches and parents?

No. Web Academy's listed features include no center attendance register, no branches and groups with schedules, no QR card and no parent portal. Snatr is built for the center and online together.

In Snatr

  • You create branches and groups with schedules and seat counts, and an attendance register for every class.
  • You record attendance by a printed QR card for each student, or manually.
  • A parent portal on your site, where parents see their child's attendance and grades.
  • You open accounts for assistants and front-desk staff, with 4 ready-made permission presets.
  • You run the center and online courses from the same account.

In ⁨Web Academy⁩

  • The attendance mentioned is live class attendance only.
  • No branches, groups or attendance card in its features.
  • Their advice for parents is a weekly report and a certificate, not a portal to follow along.
  • It has 4 roles: admin, instructor, assistant and student, and a log of every change.
  • Any missing feature can be built as custom development, at a separate price.

In its articles, Web Academy advises centers to use a hybrid model: recorded lessons on the platform, and review and practice in the classroom. That is sound advice. But the classroom part, meaning attendance, groups and parents, will stay in a notebook or another program.

The QR card on Snatr carries a signed code that cannot be forged, and the assistant scans it at the door. But a card can be photographed and sent to someone else, so this is card attendance, not a fingerprint.

If you remove a permission from an assistant on Snatr, it is removed that same instant, without them signing out and back in. The four presets are front desk, branch supervisor, academic assistant and full access.

In short: If you run a center, Web Academy will cover only the online part, and you will still need something else for attendance and parents. See center management on Snatr.

Ownership, several teachers and an app: how do Web Academy and Snatr differ?

Web Academy sells you the platform to own, with several teachers and split earnings, and an app in your name on Enterprise from 50,000 EGP. Snatr is a subscription for one teacher, and hosting, updates, payments and the center are all handled by Snatr.

In Snatr

  • A monthly subscription: if you stop paying, your platform and your students' site close until you pay.
  • One teacher per platform, and no earnings split between teachers.
  • No app in your name: students open your platform in the phone's browser.
  • 30 ready-made designs you edit without code, and the first two are free.
  • A custom domain on the Pro plan: Snatr buys and connects it, and the first year is free.

In ⁨Web Academy⁩

  • The platform is yours, and your student data can be exported at any time.
  • Two teachers on Launch, unlimited on Growth, with each one's earnings calculated separately.
  • An app in your name on the Apple and Google stores, with offline viewing, on Enterprise.
  • It has 4 templates and a drag-and-drop editor, and your site is on your domain on every plan.
  • It has coupons, offers, gift cards and affiliate marketing.

Ownership means the platform stays with you if you stop paying. But it also means hosting and the domain renew at your expense every year, and updates after the first 6 months cost money.

On Snatr, a custom domain is not available during the trial. Once it is connected, the old link redirects to it automatically and keeps your Google ranking. Browse the Snatr designs before you choose.

How do you start? Trial, setup and support on both platforms

On Snatr you open your account yourself and try it free for 7 days. On Web Academy you request a demo, their team contacts you within one business day, and they set up your platform in days.

In Snatr

  • You sign up yourself, try it free for 7 days, and your platform runs on a link in your name.
  • The site closes when the trial ends without a subscription.
  • The dashboard is Arabic right to left, and also available in English.
  • Support in Arabic on WhatsApp and by email at support@snatr.com.
  • Plan changes are made through support, not from the dashboard.

In ⁨Web Academy⁩

  • You request a demo, and they contact you within one business day by the method you choose.
  • Their team sets up your site, courses and payments, and you review.
  • A trial you open yourself is not mentioned on the website.
  • You open a ticket from the dashboard, and they resolve it within 3 business days at most.
  • Dashboards in Arabic and English, and support in Arabic.

Web Academy says its average ticket resolution time is under two days, according to its website. It also says it trains you and your team in the first 30 days.

The practical difference: on Snatr you can see your platform today and decide after trying it yourself. On Web Academy the decision comes after a call and a demo on a case similar to yours.

How to move from Web Academy to Snatr

  1. 1

Try Snatr and keep your old platform running

Open your Snatr account and try it free for 7 days. Your Web Academy platform is yours, so there is no subscription you need to rush to cancel. Keep it running until all your students are using the new platform.

  2. 2

    Export your student data

Web Academy says your student data can be exported at any time. Export it so you know who paid for which course. Student records and passwords do not move between platforms on their own.

  3. 3

Prepare your videos and upload them to Snatr

Collect the original copies of your lesson videos and PDF files. Upload the videos to Snatr so they are encrypted. If you have free lessons on YouTube, add their links instead of uploading them.

  4. 4

Create your courses and enroll your existing students

Create each course with its lessons and exams, and set its price in EGP. A student who has already paid you can be enrolled manually in the course with no fee, and then send them your new platform link.

  5. 5

If you run a center, set up branches and cards

Create your branches and groups with their schedules, and print a QR card for each student. Open an account for each assistant with the permissions you choose, and send each parent their login details for their portal.

  6. 6

Decide what to do about hosting and the domain

Once your students have settled on Snatr, decide whether to renew your Web Academy hosting. If you want to move your domain to Snatr, ask Snatr support first, because a custom domain is on the Pro plan only.

Snatr's limits, before you sign up

We list them up front so you decide knowing everything.

  • You pay for as long as you work: if you stop the subscription, your platform and your students' site close until you pay.
  • No export of all students at once: you can download each student's report as a CSV file, but there is no button that exports everyone at once.
  • No AI and no question bank: and no affiliate marketing.
  • One teacher per platform: there are no several teachers with split earnings.
  • No app in your name: students open your platform in the phone's browser, and there is no download for offline viewing.
  • No installments: the student pays by card, Fawry or mobile wallet, and cannot pay in installments.
  • Screen recording is not prevented: nor is a phone filming the screen. On Apple devices the protection is somewhat weaker against a technically skilled person.
  • A custom domain is on Pro only: and it is not available during the trial.
  • Plan changes go through support: you do not change your plan yourself from the dashboard.

Frequently asked questions

Snatr or Web Academy: which is better for a teacher in Egypt?

Snatr is better for a teacher or a center in Egypt. It starts at 999 EGP a month with no upfront sum, and hosting, updates and the payment gateway are in the subscription. You get QR card attendance and a parent portal, and video is encrypted on every plan. Web Academy is a licence from 25,000 EGP once, with hosting of about 2,000 to 2,500 EGP a year on top.

Is there a teaching platform in Egypt with a monthly subscription instead of a large license fee?

Yes, Snatr. It gives you a platform in your name for 999 EGP a month, with a free 7-day trial. Students pay by Fawry, mobile wallets and card, video is encrypted, and it has management for the center, attendance and parents, with live classes on the Pro plan. You do not need hosting or a payment-company account.

How much does Web Academy cost?

According to their pricing page in October 2026: Launch is 25,000 EGP, Growth is 35,000 EGP, and Enterprise is from 50,000 EGP, all paid once. Hosting and the domain are separate, about 2,000 to 2,500 EGP a year. Updates are free for 6 months, then 4,000 EGP a year if you want them.

Can I pay for a Web Academy license in installments?

The pricing page offers installments for the Growth plan: 5,000 EGP a month for 7 months, with no down payment and no interest. It says this is a limited-time offer. On Snatr there is no upfront sum at all, and the subscription starts at 999 EGP a month.

If I do not pay for updates on Web Academy, does the platform stop?

No. Their pricing page says updates are optional and the platform works without them, but you will not get new releases and features. Hosting must keep being paid for the site to stay up.

Is Web Academy an Egyptian platform?

Web Academy is an Arabic platform whose WhatsApp number is Egyptian, and it shows its prices in EGP and US dollars. Its website says its market is Egypt and the Gulf. Snatr is built for the Egyptian teacher, and its prices are in EGP.

Does Web Academy have a mobile app?

An app in your name and logo on the Apple and Google stores is on the Enterprise plan, which starts at 50,000 EGP according to their pricing page. It includes downloading lessons for offline viewing. Snatr has no app, and students open your platform in the phone's browser.

Does Snatr take a percentage of my sales?

No. On Snatr your price reaches you in full. If the student pays online, the payment fee is added on top of your price for the student, and is not deducted from you. A student who pays you cash is registered manually, with no fee at all. Web Academy also takes no percentage, but payment gateway fees are on you.

If my students exceed the plan on Snatr, does registration stop?

No, registration does not stop. Each extra student is charged at your plan's extra student price: 15 EGP on Starter, 10 on Basic and 7 on Pro. Web Academy's pricing page sets no limit on the number of students, but the hosting you pay for has to be enough for them.

Can I use Web Academy and Snatr together?

You can, but you will pay for both, and your students may get confused between two links. If you have an academy for professional courses on Web Academy and a center in Egypt, you could keep the two businesses separate. But if both serve the same students, one platform is easier for you and for them.
